Question about Dell Precision T7500 Computer Workstation PC Desktop

1 Answer

I have a Dell Precision T7500. when I turn the power on, there is a solid amber light and the fans start to increase the rpm like crazy but no splash screen shows up. What could it be? Is it something got bumped and is not properly connected? I checked all the cables and everything looks in place. Thank You

You didn't mention which fan makes the noise CPU, Chasis or the SMPS fan. Generally, the SMPS fan makes this type of noise when the greasing or the lubricant in it drys up.

Hi My dell Precision T7500 makes huge fan noise constantly. It is the front cage fan and is a new original Dell part.

Edward Farren-Price,
The 2 video cards put off a lot of heat. The fan needs to run to keep the system from overheating. If the fan has alot of dust build up you may want to use some canned air to blow the dust off. You can click the link below to download the online service manual. The manual provides information on the location of parts within your computer.

Dell opitiplex 280 is not giving display. first of all his fan speed to much high and then after 4 or 5 day its display disappeared. its just picking now power and fan also start with high noise and...

OK, I use GX280s as home servers and ran into a similar problem with one of them...

The problem may be serious and not worth fixing (motherboard).

Turn power on
Fan(s) come on full power, sounds like a jet engine, or eventually gets that loud.

See if you power light has gone amber.

You get nothing on the screen, no Dell splash screen/post, nothing.

This is what I posted a while back concerning the above. Obviously I cannot bee 100% certain as I do not have your box in front of me. This a known issue.

--------

See if the power light goes amber after power up. I had (have - still siting in my basement) one that did same. Power up, fans go full blast . Power light goes and stays amber. This is USUALLY caused by bad capacitors on the mother board. Known GX280 problem going back. If you look on the motherboard, the capacitors should have flat tops and not leaking. If the are rounded or leaking, the MB has probably gone bad. Bottom line this is usually a defective motherboard. Mine was a bad caps issue, you issue could be different, but it does sound like the motherboard.

You can google "gx280 solid amber light loud fan" and see the issues. Here is one link.

I just replaced one of my old 280s with a dual core Dell Precision 390 workstation for about $118, and that included shipping, off of ebay.

Xp420 dell doesnt boot just a solid amber light on mother board high rpm on fan that doesnt slow no picture on screen....?????

Solid Amber light is a No-Boot scenario for all DELL PC. It may be either Power Supply, motherboard, memory or Proc. If you try to call Dell customer support they might try to let you isolate the problem by opening up your pc. But they will replace the parts necessary if they found out that its broken and your XPS is still under warranty.

You can call 1-800-232-8544 be sure to have you Service Tag or Express Service code ready.

Solid Amber light when starting the Inspiron 530 . Every time i start the Dell inspiron 530, the solid amber light comes on and it dont start. As per Dell user manual i have tried everything but of no use....

Amber led simplifies a start-up-error. This could be a number of things.

For example:

Check if HDD is connected properly

Check if RAM is connected properly / also if this is damaged your pc wont start.

Check your m/board for any loose capacitors an if they are not popped at the top.

Your LCD screen is properly plugged in to the m/board and if the cables aren't damaged they are very thin and fragile.
also could be the power supply...
