Do you have it set to your default handling program for .zip files? It should do it by default, however, sometimes you need to set it manually. right click on the zip file, select "open with", navigate to an option called "other programs" (or something of the sort) and find 7 zip in the list of programs. On the bottom of the box there is a check box that allows you to "set this program as the default handler". You want to check that box.

Winzip 15.5 activation

If you have purchased Winzip and need help, check here...
http://winzip.com/land_support.html
If all you need to do is unzip ".zip" files, you do not need to purchase WinZip. Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8 all have a free extraction tool. You just right-click on a ".zip" file and click "Extract All". First, if you have already downloaded and installed the free WinZip, you can just Uninstall it.

I cant open msi files on my laptop

Hello the file is probably in the zip format (compressed file)
and you need to unzip the file before you can use it.

Here is a free program:

http://www.7-zip.org/

Download and install the exe file.
When installed right click on the zip file and choose 7 zip and extract here or to a folder.

Other files from msi uses adobe reader.
Download here:

I have downloaded Drivers for Olympus VN-4100PC but cant install them as they are a zipped file

On any computer running Windows XP or Vista or 7,
right-mouse click on the ZIP file, and choose "Extract All" to start the "unzipping-wizard".

Once unzipped, look for a "setup.exe" file in the newly-created folder. Double-click to run that program.

When i try to install a critical update it was denied access by 7 zip. even after uninstalling 7 zip and installing winzip i still get the same response when trying to install updates 7 zip access denied....

Install Winrar, Here is the link

http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar391.exe

if you double click the file, the files will be extracted in the temp folder,so after installing winrar, right click on the file and select extract here. and try to install the update now,

Sometime when you extract files and it contains Malware or Trojan,Anti-Virus which support real time scan just block the files and the access denied message is displayed.

Scan the extracted files before installing so that you know it's Virus free.

Sometimes, even if you have administrator right, sometimes due to malware infection, you are denied access to some system hidden giles like folder under Local settings.

I don't think it's a zipping problem

Create a folder and put the zipped file in thre and extract to same folder. Then turn off computer, install the peripheral, and reboot. When computer detects presence of new hardware it will ask for driver. Then direct the computer to the folder where you have all of the extracted files and the OS will find the necessary driver and take care of business for you.
