Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Colors too dark

When I print from any other photo editing software besides the Kodak easyshare, the photo shadows are too dark. I just finished working on a picture on JASC Paint shop pro. The lighting on the photo was just right on my monitor. But when I printed the shot, as with others from other editing software I have, the foreground faces are too dark to even see details. Any suggestions? I prefer to use other photo editing software beside the easy share. Thanks.

This is from a color balancing issue, which the software folks need to work with Kodak on. go to their website, and see IF there are transforms for Kodak.

I can scan and edit the text with the Kodak ESP-3

You can edit the pictures using Kodak's retouching software.Scan quality was a little better but also retained the dark compression issues.

The Kodak ESP 3 comes with great software for editing photos and applying touch-ups to portraits, but printer software is only as good as the physical results, and the print quality isn't nearly up to current industry standards. Your $150 would be much better spent on alternative multifunction printers.

Kodak Easyshare 5300 All-in-one Inkjet Printer

Hello ocalvin,

You need to clean the printhead of the printer to solve that issue. Because everytime you print, excessive inks are going to the printhead that's the reason why it's clogging the system up. That's because Kodak printers is using "pigments" as inks that's why Kodak printers are producing high quality prints unlike other printers - a photo printed from kodak could actually last for about 100 years. Now back to your issue, you need to clean the printhead from the printer but not manually. You could clean it by going to the software of the printer namely the KODAK HOME CENTER SOFTWARE. You need to click the "?" mark icon on the upper right corner of the software window then under the General Links select Maintenance then choose Clean Printhead. Do it at least twice and then try making prints. If that still doesn't work try calling Kodak Technical Support Representative: 1-800-421-6699

I hope I have been some of help.
