The only amp wires that connect to the Head Unit are:
Amplifier remote turn on wire to Blue/white at radio
and RCA audio cords to SUB or REAR output RCA jacks.

How do I wire external amplifier

In order for this to work correctly you need:
  1. Power wire (with fuse) from battery to amp (+)
  2. Ground wire from amp to car chassis. (-)
  3. remote-on lead from a 12V power source that turns on and off with the ignition if the head unit does not supply a wire. (switch)
  4. RCA connection from head unit to the amp. (sound in)
  5. Speaker wire connection from amp to speakers. (sound out)
It is easiest to start with deciding on the amp mounting location, and then running all the wires. Add an extra foot or so to each wire. You may discover in the process that you have to move things around due to unforeseen obstacles. This extra foot will help in that case. Always attach the ground wire to the chassis first and then to the amp first. Once you have the fused power wire from the battery installed; remove the fuse before trying to attach it to the amp. ONLY re-install the fuse once all connections to the amp are made, secure, have been checked twice and you're ready to test it.. This includes speakers. DO NOT for ANY reason have the amp powered up before attaching ALL speaker connections.

I have the dual xdv8125 car stereo and i hook all the wires up but nothn comes on. its hooked upto a 12volt dc power converter box. it wont do nothing at all.

Make sure that the DC has more than 3/5Amps rating with good DC to make the set working. Test with a car battery to confirm your connection if not check the speaker connections, the main power, switched power and ground must be in order.

the speakers hook to speaker wires not to any thing else no power no negative poles do you have a remote shut off switch connected to amp this would be important to cut off amp

when cut off amp if you still here the humming this can be an indicator of low power being produced by alternator alternators produce 14 anything below 12 would mean replacement of alternator

if alternator fine then you need to find new ground for amp and make sure you have a good ground for sterio this can be checked with a test light
to check a ground all you do is hook gator clip to power then touch test light end to ground on radio end light comes on got a good ground (make sure not to touch any other sterio wires just the ground wire while connected to power to check grounds)
if pulsing in test light on the ground means you have a bad ground
just disconnect move to better ground

check the amp ground the same way as decribed above

Amp cd proble3m

i'm not entirely sure but i think that your only supposed to have the blue remote wire hooked up. but like i said i'm not sure. i hooked my amp up and somehow my remote wire shorted and fried my ignition switch so don't hold me to it, but maybe look into it. I think that you might have a constand power hooked up to a switched power cable for your amp so haveing the constant power to your amp, asied from your 12v at the battery, your amp might not even know when your car is on or off. hope this helps sorry for the open ender

If you're talking about the amplifier's power terminals, the positive terminal is designed to be wired directly to the battery (be sure to fuse the amp power wire near the battery terminal). The negative terminal should be bolted to vehicle chassis metal for a ground connection. The only amplifier connections that go to the back of the head unit are the remote turn-on wire and the RCA cables.
