Question about HP Pavilion a350n PC Desktop

1 Answer

I'm working on an HP Pavilion a305n with a replaced hard drive, power supply, and DVD/RW. All other components are factory default. I've copied the recovery disks to the new hard drive and tried running the recovery to the factory default installation - including making sure the BIOS was set to the default as well - and it continues to fail at ~34 minutes. I believe this is the point where I am to name the PC, but the video is pixelated to the point where the PC locks up and does not respond. When you restart, and it runs through recovery again, it gets to the same point and continues to lock up. Replaced the hard drive with a new hard drive, and the exact same response. Tried running a fresh copy of XP Professional and the exact same response. Tried running a fresh copy of XP Home and the exact same response. Any recommendations would be very helpful.

Hello, not sure if this helps, but if you're using a usb-connected keyboard + mouse, then try using directly-connected ps2 kbd and mouse. Regards, nicam49

I put new in power supply and went power on my computer and it would not turn on

If the computer was working before you changed the power supply then likely you have not connected all the header wires properly. Check your wiring again. If you replaced the power supply because the computer was not working, then you may have an issue other than power supply, such as a bad motherboard.

Freecom Classic SL hard drive stopped working

Probable reason for failure of a disk is power, if the power is adequate may be some of its components like inductor, diodes in series with the power line are opened, check for any burn marks on the pcb

My HP a420n won't start after replacing cd-rw drive

Please try to remove all the connections from your computer and also connections inside the motherboard, the power cord for your hard drives and also the power cord from the power supply to your motherboard. After that, remove the memory and clean the pin by using an eraser of the pencil. And then insert again the memory stick and connect all the connections from the power supply to motherboard and everything. Lastly reset your bios and put it back to normal again. Hope this would help. Thanks..

Format/restore computer to factory settings

Press F11 at system startup to get to the NEC recovery menu. From there, you can restore your factory settings. However, a "destructive" recovery will wipe the hard drive, including your personal files. Best to back those up first before performing the recovery.

Hope this helps - remember to rate :)
