With the access point UNPLUGGED from power
hold down the reset button, PLUG IN POWER, keep holding reset
after 10 seconds, release. Access Point will then be configured with
a default static IP address of 192.168.1.245
Then open a browser like IE or Firefox and type in that IP and the
config screen will show up.

The Cisco Aironet 1200 access point provides secure wireless connection to your network. Cisco's wireless access design meet the needs of a small to medium size business.

This unit provides secure network access for laptops or Wi-Fi capable portable devices, which you upgrade at any time as your business grows.

A beneficial feature of the Cisco Aironet 1200 is its ability for the administrator to reset the access point remotely.

This resetting process works through your internet browser.
Log on to the System Configuration page by entering your Cisco Airnet 1200 IP address in your browsers web address text box.

Enter your user and password information from the pop up menu.
Click on the "Setup" button from the summary status page.

Select the "Cisco Services" setup option and click on "Manage System Configuration."
Click on "Reset All System Factory Defaults" to reset the router.

The Cisco Aironet 1200 will be restored to factory defaults.

How to resolve wifi access mode not supported

an AP is used to extend you wireless range and will connect to your router to provide network and internet access. An AP by itself cannot connect to the ISP since it does not use a WAN port

a router is an AP that will allow you to connect to your ISP for internet connection. A router can be configured to work as an AP but a AP cannot function as a router.

Wireless router fuse

There is a rest pin whole. On the back of your linksys router there is a Pin whole to reset the router to factory settings. It might have a piece of tape over the whole.

Below are the steps on how to reset a Linkys Router to factory default.

I am unable to reset my Linksys WAP2000 despite using the reset button.

Hi mdouglas471,

If your resetting your router make sure that the router is turn on and you need to press and hold the reset button at the back of the router for 15-30 seconds using a Pen or Paper Clip. And for you to make sure if the reset was successful you can access the router settings page.

To access your router you need a working computer connected to the router then open a Browser then type 192.168.1.1. the username is blank and the password is admin.

Rate me if this helps so i can help others.

Thanks for using Fixya.

WAP4400N access

Hello,

Do you have a DHCP server, like on your router, or on another computer on your LAN ?

If you don't know if you have a dhcp server or not... in windows, you can go to: Start>run>cmd, then type: ipconfig /all
That will tell you what ip address your dhcp server is.

If so do you see the access point trying to get an address? Check your logs, if you have a DHCP server chances are the access point (AP) already has an address.

Another thing you can do, is hold... i think it is a red button in the back, if you hold it for 30 seconds i think.. it will reset your AP back to its default settings.
