Hi, The problem with pocket PC is that you can't do something to test and find if the problem comes from the display or the graphic processor. If the device is not too old, you can try to repair it. In case that the device is more than 10 years, buy a new one. Sorry.

My television was dropped. The power comes on, but the screen remains black with a white line appearing across the center of the screen.

hi,

how many years, your tv is working .

if over 10-15 years you must try to replace with new one.

if not :

the gun of screen lamp may be damaged or one of diod is damaged or one of the larg capacitor

is leeked .

anyway for solving the matter a technecian must visit your tv.

good luck

Crack beneath screen

I hate to bring bad news but it's better cruel truth than sweet lie.
You got so-called "physical damage" of your LCD panel. Surface that you can touch and one that looks intact is just a protective layer. Behind it is fragile class of LCD panel. Sometimes kids tap toy into the screen and parents later guessing what's wrong with TV.
No manufacturer (that covers first 12 months) or extended warranty will cover this repair. Technician will show up for free of charge, take a pictures of the screen and leave you with this problem. Whole LCD panel have to be replaced and part alone could cost up to 80% of cost of new TV.
Unless you can prove that this is shipping damage (I doubt it because it is not that you calling retailer very next day after purchase) - there is nothing that you can do to get out of this situation cheaply.
Still you need to call manufacturer customer service and have technician from authorized service center to show up and inspect it. Maybe we both wrong and you have a case of defective panel. Really hard to determine without seeing pictures of how your LCD looks like.
Sorry again and good luck!
Russ.

Someone or something impacted the screen. There is absolutely no other way this could have happened. The cost of replacing the panel will far exceed the cost of a replacement TV.

I have a Samsung T220HD Tv/Monitor, and ive had it for about 3 months now. Recently a thin vertical blue line has appeared through the screen, although if i move the screen itself the blue line goes away...

hi this might help you:

*search the invoice and contact your dealer/ place where you've bought it.
this may indicate a fabrical fault, i mean that electronically there's something wrong that either the screen isn't able to show the right pixels once in a while so to say, or that whatever creates the order to form the colors is damaged....

The screen will propably have to be replaced.

if this doesn't solve it i really wouldn't know what to do.
i've been selling tv's for 6 months and have seen customers with these problems.

greets and succes

Dell doesn't release schematics, unfortunately. Here's the closest I could find:

Unfortunately damage of this nature is not covered by the manufacturer warranty, however you may be lucky as it does not sound like the plasma panel fractured. Find your nearest LG auth service center and maybe they will find some plug or connector may have have been jarred loose. Good Luck

HP-T4254 Samsung Plasma - Cracked Screen

This appears to be more common than Samsung lets people know. There isobviously a manufacturing defect. Same thing happened to my tv and it was only 4 months old. Samsung refuses to honor their warranty claiming it's physical damage...no kiding...there was a pop like a small firecracker going off inside the TV and the screen broke. You think think with this kind of catostrophic failure there would be physical damage? We're going after Samsung (BBB, FTC, small claims, etc.), if we can get enough people maybe go class-action.

Sony Wega 29" TV screen cracked

Definitely this is due to thunder. Apart from rarely following type of problem occurs through vertical section also. Before you got the screen cracked past month or past week days you observe any rainbow color screen or single horizontal line in the center of the screen means there is a chances to crack. Unless otherwise any physical damage by any other person or the above mentions symptom there is no chances to crack the tv screen. Since it is not designed like that moreover this is SONY
