It sounds like the PC Board which provides the circuitry for the Charger's indicating light is malfuntioning. If you have a DC volt-meter, you can check the Charger's output voltage, and then the Battery voltage to determine if your charger is functioning.
Hint: If the Charger has an output voltage, but the Battery's voltage is less than its rated voltage... it's time for a new battery.

The battery is either too hot or too cold....if it was just used then give it time to cool down before trying to charge...
If the battery is at room temperature and you are still getting the fault code then the battery is shorted or open internally.
If the battery has an internal fault it is not easily repairable and you should just recycle it and buy a new battery.
