The pins on our DSi Lite are bent and does not read games. Can the pins be replaced? Is this something that can be fixed at home or does it to be done professionly? If it can be done at home are special tools needed?

It's highly recommended that you do send your DS to a professional for this kind of problems.

My dsi wont play games eveytime i put it in the game in the slot it wont pop up, so i cant play game. i went to a game store to see if he could fix it, he said that its either to old or somthing got in it...

It is possibly either dirty or bent contacts in the cartridge slot. If the game slides in and out easily then the pins are possibly not bent.... if it does not the pins are bent and you will need the slot replaced or replace the unit.

You can use a Emery board (Yes nail file) push the board in and of of the cartridge slot. Make sure the motion is only in and out no side to side or you risk bending the pins.

Hope this helps.

My sons dsi xl is not reading his games. It's performing all other functions though. There's nothing blocking the game and the entry way. What can we do?

Try cleaning the game slot, use a cleaning kit or just blow inside to remove dust then try the game again. If it doesn't work look inside the slot. check for bent pins or any small objects that may have become stuck in there. Clean the game's contact pads with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol
Cleaning kits can be bought pretty much anywhere you can buy a DSI and should look something like this:
If this doesn't work you may have a damaged DSI and should call Nintendo to see about getting it serviced.

My daughters ds lite has a few problems. The calibration is out and wont fix when i calibrate it. It wont play ds games but will play gameboy games. Please could you tell me if these problems cn be fixed?

The touch screen may be faulty but can be replaced. The SLOT 1 game slot may have bent pins or broken pins. Bent pins can be easily fixed (with care and patience) but replacing the SLOT 1 or the touch screen is quite difficult. It is probably repairable but only by someone who knows what they are doing.

My nintendo dsi is not recognizing there is a game in the game slot

Check to make sure none of the pins inside the slot are bent. If any are you will require a new card reader which is pretty difficult to install. If they are not bent try blowing into the slot and see what happens

Hope this helps.

DS not reading game

This is usually due to either bent or dirty pins in the card slot, look inside and see if any pins are bent, if they are a new card slot is needed.

Hope this helps

Help, My son's DS wont read the cards all of a sudden. The kids began to blow them because they were intermittently reading them is this the problem. I brought a brand new game to see if it was the old...

Sounds to me like one or more of the Pins in the Card slot is bent or Broken. take a good look in there with a flash light. May just need a good Cleaning with some pipe cleaners. if the pins are Bent or broken you can Open it up and fix your self but this is something that you need to be a little more advanced to do. But Fixable.

Nintendo ds keeps not reading games. Clean with alochol but have to keep recleaing for it to work. Is there some sort of eletctrical lubricant/cleaner that works for a permanent fix?

The main reason for it not reading games will be that one of the pins that connect with game card when inserted will be bent! The console needs to be opened and all four points around the game port will need to be desoldered and the top half lifted off and the pins bent back into place! and put back together again!

Ds lite

the pins in the game slot might be bent (shine a light in the slot and use a needle or pin to straighten any bent pins) or the pins might be dirty. slide something thin, wet with rubbing alcohol, over the pins-lightly.

Nintendo ds lite won't read card

had this problem, i looked into where the game goes and one of the little metal teeth was bent, so i took a long toothpick and gently pushed it back over now it works fine. Be careful that you dont break it off though.
