Hello,

There are three ways you can connect a DVD player to a TV. Component video gives the best picture quality, but requires 3 cables for the video signal alone. S-video needs only 1 cable but it isn't as good as component video. Composite video is the easiest connection to make, but gives the lowest picture quality.

Component Video Connection

Get a component video cable. This cable has 3 sets of connectors, one each for the red, blue
and green color signals.
Match the connectors to the appropriate video output jacks on the DVD player. Component
video outputs will normally be labeled Cr/Cb/Cy. The Cy output jack is matched to green, Cr to
red and Cb to blue.
Run the cable from DVD player to the TV. Most TV connections are made from the back panel,
but this may vary.
Match the connectors to the appropriate video input jacks on the TV.

S-Video Connection

Get an S-video cable. This cable has a single round connector with 4 pins.
Attach one end of the S-video cable to the S-video output jack on the DVD player.
Attach the other end to the S-video input jack on the TV.

Composite Video Connection

Get a composite video cable. These types of cables are frequently bundled with two-channel
audio cables. Composite video cables are tipped with yellow plugs.
Plug one end of the composite video cable into the composite video output jack on your DVD
player.
Plug the other end into the composite video input jack on your TV.

I hope the above helps.....

Good luck.

Hi, you can connect the DVD Player to the Toshiba LCD TV by using a Component Cable or HDMI Cable if both the DVD Player and LCD TV Supports it. Usually the Component Cable has Red, White, Yellow colored wires. Red and White are for Right and Left Audio, Yellow is for Video.

HDMI is hassle free you can just connect single cable for connecting LCD TV to the the DVD Player.

How to connect a dvd player to a tv set

Connect the incoming antenna to the DVD player (look for connections on the back of the DVD player for Antenna In). Then connect the Dvd player to the Tv. Use the "out" connections on the back of the DVD player and the "in" connections on the back of the tv. You can use RCA jacks to connect the DVD to the tv, or any other type of connection available. Once the DVD player is connected to the tv, you need to set the incoming source on the television. Click on the source button until you find the one that has a clear picture. Dvd connections are usually listed as "aux 1 or 2" on the tv source choices. You will know when you choose the right one because the picture will come in on the tv.

Hope this helps?

Trying to connect sony dvd player to hdtv

You will need some cables first. It's really not that difficult once you know what each cable does.

Since you're only connecting from the DVD player to a receiver, this should be simple.

There are 4 solutions depending on what cables you have.

Composite - Yellow, Red, and White ended connectors.
S-Video - Black 4-pin connectors.
Component - Green, Blue, Red and sometimes extra Red, White for audio.
HDMI - heavy cable with a wide/flat connector.

Composite connection - Connect the yellow end to the yellow Video Out of the DVD player and to the DVD Video In on the receiver. Connect the Red audio connector to the Red Audio out of the DVD player, the White connector to the White Audio out of the DVD player, and then connect those to the Red and White Ins for DVD Audio on the Receiver.

S-Video Connection - This is the same as the Composite video connection, but connect the black 4-pin cable into the S-Video out of the DVD player and into the In for DVD on the back of the receiver instead of using the yellow video cable. The S-Video cable is a video only cable and uses the same audio cables (the red and white ended cables) for audio.

Component Connection - On the back of the DVD player, connect the 3 video cables that are Red to Red, Blue to Blue, and Green to Green. These will be labeled Y for Green, Cb/Pb for Blue, and Cr/Pr for Red. Connect these video cables to the inputs of the receiver the same way Y for Green, Cb/Pb for Blue, and Cr/Pr for Red. The audio connection is the same as composite and there should be a place on the DVD player that will tell you what audio is for Component. This is also the same on the back of the receiver.

HDMI Connection - This one is the easiest to connect as your audio and video are in the same cable. Plug in your HDMI cable in the back of the DVD player (there should only be one) and then to the HDMI connection for DVD on the back of the receiver.

Now...once you have your connections made, turn on your DVD player, set your receiver to DVD, and enjoy.

If your receiver does not have video inputs, you will need to run the video lines directly to your TV while the audio lines go to your receiver. This will mean you will need to set the receiver to DVD as well as change the channel of the TV to the input you have the DVD player plugged into.

I hope this helps.

VCR, DVD, TV Connection

first let me say that a dvd player and a dvd recorder are different. the dvd player can only play dvd while a dvd recorder can both play and record dvd that is said. what i understand from what you write is currently is - out of your tv box into your dvd player then out of your player into your tv........ ok some dvd has two connections. line one and line two if your tv box is in line one then you should plug the rca cable in line two in. then you select line two on the dvd player then plug the other end to your vcr in line out so that is out of your vcr into line two of your dvd player.(some times one of the connection is at the front of your player hidden) if your dvd player only have one connection then you would have to plug out your tv box and replace it with the vcr cable and when you finish coping your vhs tape you plug in back your tv box to your dvd player. hope i could help..........
