For a factory fitted unit, remove the system and on the back is a label with the serial number. You need to post the make model and serial to see if a free code is available. The serial number may begin with an "M" followed by 6 numbers. If a "V" followed by 6 numbers then that will be a dealer only item.
Hope that helps

I have a 1997 acrua battery died now radio is asking for a code

when power is diconnected from your car, the radio will ask for a code. this is part of the anti theft system of your car. inside your owners manuel case, there should be a slip with the code on it.( hope its there) input this into your radio. if its not allowing you, disconnect the battery, and reconnect. this should allow you to input the code sequence.

I disconnected the battery and when I connected it back the time pannel and music display isnt functionable, instead a displayed is an "error" input code what should i do about this issue the...

Look through the paper work you received when you purchased the vehicle. There should be a 5-digit code on a plastic card labeled "Anti-theft radio code". Put this code into the display, and it should take it and work.

I just got my Honda Pilot 2008 out of the garage after a small coalition and now the radio doesn't work. I keep getting the message "enter code" and I have no idea which the code is. Where can I find it?

The code should have come with your manual. Look in the paperwork that came with the car. If you don't have it, ask your dealer for the code.

Good day. I drive a 2007 City Golf, I recently took my car in for its service. When i received the car back the radio was saying SAFE?? What does this mean? I Bought the car at a second hand car dealer and...

the radio anti theft system is operated when, for any reason, the power is turned off/disconnected,(safe mode)in some markets, the dealers do not keep the factory code (0000) OR the code inputed by the owner...SO, if anybody turns the power off(disconnects)the radio DIES....and garages will then charge you to "repair" it.
the garage would have known this but i cant see them offering to pay for disconnecting your battery.....
the only alternative is a specialist radio shop who may be able to
short the code out..in england the company is "radioactive" and they charge £15.00 at your house.....

I changed my battery in my 2006 Acura CSX and now the Radio is asking for a Radio Code. I have the radios serial number, but I now need the code.

You will need to contact the Acura dealership to get the code. Code may be located in the paperwork you got when you purchased it new...if you have it.

Radio locked after disconnecting battery

In your manuel there is instruction to unlocking the radio and you may have the code's written in the back. If it does ask for a code try 0000 and if that does not work try logging on to www.radio-code.com.
They can give you the instruction and codes you need to reset your radio. If you have a good relationship with the dealer they may be able to help you out too since they are always disconnecting and changing batteries.
Good luck and hope this helps.

How to reset the check engine light on a 2002 toyota highlander. it happens everytime they disconnect the scensor tube to get to the air filter. thanks, susan

That means that the sensor must be replaced.

You can turn temporarily off the light by disconnecting battery for five minutes, but it will probably come back.

To fix it completely, take it to a garage and have the problem fixed.

Note: when you unplug battery you may be asked car radio security code afterward.
