The alternative drain pipe, as you called it, is for a garden hose type connection, not rigid pipe. The connection is threaded, so that a standard garden hose can be screwed on to it. Rigid pipe like you are trying to use won't work.

Hope this helped to clarify the issue.

What part do we need to connect this unit to a drain ? Is it available ? ****** #404TA003818

Not well up on the unit, but most just require a pipe to be pushed on, have a look round back, might have a drain plug that you will need to remove, and connect a pipe to.

Hose hooked up but bucket fills anyway. Hose is attached to internal nozzle. Is that right?

The problem you're having is generally cause by the drain hose or drain hose connection being clogged. When that happens water is diverted to the bucket. To solve this problem do the following:

First disconnect the drain hose for clogs to check for a clog.. Also, the hose should be no longer than 5 feet. If the hose is clear, the clog is in the hose connection or tubing.

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reinstall the bucket, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor ithe hose for drainage.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

I hope this helps you & thanks for choosing FixYa.

How do i get the water to go threw the hose fitting so it can goto the drain without it going into the water tub and shutting the dehumidafier off.Your help is appreciated.Thank you!!

It appears that either the drain dose you're using is clogged or the hose connection on the unit and it internal tubing is clogged. When this happens, water is diverted back to the bucket.

The hose is easy to check and solve because you can disconnect it and look tru it. Remember, the hose should be no longer than 5 feet.

To clear the hose connection and internal tubing, do the following:

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reinstall the drain hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose for water flow. Keep in mind, water drainage relies entirely on gravity. The hose should slope down and away from the unit, without kinks & bends.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e. a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
).

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

How do i make it continue to run with no bucket so it does not fill and and so i don't have to empty it

Attach a length of garden hose no longer than 5 feet, to the threaded drain hose connection that was supplied with your unit, to carry water to the drain.
1. Remove the drain-hole cover on the back left side of your unit.
2. Connect a garden hose to the threaded drain hose connector.
3. Push hose connector tightly to the drain-hole on Rear Grille with the arrow on the tab pointing UP.
The hose attachment will accept a standard garden hose fitting.
Do not over tighten the hose when connecting it to the hose connector,
use a rubber washer and tighten by hand firmly without stripping the
plastic threads.
When being attached to hose connector drain hose connection,
do not bend or kink the hose. The hose should lie flat from the
dehumidifier to the drain.

I have a lg lhd45elt8 dehumidifier i bought used i want to hook up the hose connection i see on the back a plastic chip that needs to be removed and the hose pipe is just inserted? then connect a drain...

I own this dehumidifier. To connect it to a garden hose for drainage you first need the special connector pipe/adapter that comes with the unit. It's white plastic and about a foot long, It may be stored in the top of the bucket drawer, where it ships from the factory. Your hose connects to the threaded fitting on one end. The other end is inserted into the hole in the back of the unit. You slide it straight in until it mates with a drain connection inside the unit. You can see this black pipe connection if you pull the bucket drawer all the way out and look in the very top right hand corner of the opening of the unit. Once the white tube is fully and correctly inserted you'll find two plastic tabs on the tube near the hose connection. The larger tab points straight up and blocks the tube from being inserted too far. The smaller tab points down and hooks into the slot in the bottom of the round opening to keep it from getting knocked loose. Your dehumidifier should now drain through the hose instead of into the bucket. Of course, be sure your hose is routed across a floor to a drain or sump pump located lower than the unit, since the water flows by gravity.

I have the hose hooked up to the back but it keeps filling the tank and shuts off when it's full ,how do you just use the hose to drain

I believe you have to put a plug to drain that drains into the tank ,then it can only drain out the hose.

Water from LG 30 pt dehumidifier drains into reservoir instead of running through garden hose into floor drain like it is supposed to. Have checked...no obstructions to garden hose. Very frustrating...must...

(assumming you are not an idiot, like the other solver suggested) you may very well have it connected to the right spot, many of these units, are not balanced well, (or are balnaced all to well, depending on how you look at it) The imbalance, basically makes the water drip to the front, instead of the back. Try to put something under just the front of the machine, to tilt it back, ever so slightly. Good luck

Need manual for fedder dehumidifer to hook up drain hose. need to know were drain hose connects.

Pull out the water collection tray. You will see a small pipe (about 1/2" diameter) in the top of the area where the tray came from. This is the "drain" that fills the tray. Connect a hose to this pipe and run the hose to a floor drain if you have one. I used a section from an old garden hose for my unit. There also may be a small opening in the back wall of the dehumidifier to route the hose more aesthetically.

How to connect drain hose?

You need the white pipe that came with it. Remove the circle on the back left of the unit with pliers or a screwdriver. Take out the bucket. screw the hose to the pipe. Push the pipe through the hole in back and break through the rubber membrane. In front, connect the white pipe to the elbow pipe at the top. Make sure the smaller tab on the white pipe (back of machine) is pointing down and the larger one up. The smaller tab goes behind the back cover and (sort of) holds the pipe in place. You still need the bucket in place for the machine to turn on.

Push through the membrane with the drain connector. The membrane has a circular cut almost all the way through it, and pushing at it with the drain connector will pop out the little hole. I've done it with four LG units.
