Defrost cycle is innactive, will ice up shortly and may not turn compressor off, defrost the unit totally(Turn off for 2 days with door open) and remove all water from the unit once done. Restart unit and should work normal for a week or so, ie...defrost cycle...get back to me if this is the case and will sort it from there, wgheaven@yahoo.com.au Russ

Green light on chest freezer flickering?

this just means the light is burning out (loosing its filament) it does not effect the operation of the freezer, it just is an indicator that you have power at the unit.

What does the red warning light by the triangle mean on a blomberg

Under normal operating conditions, the internal
temperature of the freezer will ensure the longterm
conservation of the stored food.
When such temperature rises above a certain
level (-12 °C), the appliance will trigger an
acoustic and light alarm. The light alarm is a
blink red light (Red Alarm Indicator Light), while
the acoustic alarm is an intermittent sound.
You can stop the acoustic alarm by pressing
the Acoustic Signal Stop Switch once.
When switching on the freezer for the first
time, the Red Alarm Indicator Light will
blink until the internal temperature has reached
a level required for the safe conservation of frozen
food.

Sear chest freezer stop working model#2539139180

The compressor probably shut off on thermal overload. This protects the compressor from burning up. What has happened is that a capacitor or evaporator has gone bad or it could be low on freon. Have someone take a look at it. However, if it is older than 8-10 years old, consider replacing it. This could be the beginning of the end.
