By paulrmc - usenet poster

big problem! all my firm is IBM. my lotus server is in my AS/400 (FSIOP) my
AS is on a Token network as my server lotus. I ping my IP lotus adress with
no problem from a Pc (IBM of course 350, 330, thinkpad 380,...)which is on
the token but when I'm on one which is in an ethernet no way. other firm are
connected to my network thank router (IBM of course 2210 24M and 1S4) and no
way to ping IP adress of my server. I can ping so communicate with all other
device on token. only the IP adress of Lotus is not reachable. PLEASE HELP

Kyle,

Is you are running Domino on an IPCS you have to configure a default route
on the network server description.  The IPCS runs OS2 and has its own host
table and routing table.  It will not use the AS/400s routing table.

You need to vary off and on the IPCS to get the new rout to take effect.

Jason Marston.

Thanks for all your answers, the solution was a specific route table for the
IPCS.

now everything works great.

Thanks again.

P.S. does anyone have information about sharing a Notes server (which is on
a IPCS).

The routing table on the AS/400 is suspect (or at least on the FSIOP).
I'd look in that direction.

it is difficult to understand exactly what you are saying, but I believe
this is not a notes problem...it is your network topology...you need to
get a bridge or a route that will integrate your ethernet and token ring
network..

I assume that you have a router setup (since you are using as/400 and pc's,
it wouldn't make sense not to), the router hardware / software is not
does not sound like it is configured to send packets the other network.

The routes are configured in the NWSD (use CHGNWSD from OS/400 to
change).  The host table is copied from the AS/400 host table.  Use
CFGTCP to change.

I agree, it sounds like your Token Ring and Ethernet networks are not
bridged correctly.

I think you're right but i have no knowledge about configurating routing
table on the FSIOP which is an OS2.
do you have any information about it.

Thanks for your answer.
