Don't be panic. you can try some data recovery software. You can see
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/
It tells the steps how to perform data recovery.

If above does not work, you may have to format the drive (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the drive and recover your files.

Hello neeraj_v163
The best solution in this case is to use a recovery tool to store your data on another drive before formatting the Toshiba .
Free Recuva works fine : http://download.cnet.com/Recuva/3000-2242_4-10753287.html
Do not try to recover all at once but each category at a time , documents , pictures , music ...etc...
If it fails , try this one . It's not free but very efficient : Tenorshare Data Recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data due to system sabotage, virus corrupted partitions, drives crash, physical damage,ect.. http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/index.htm
If you still don't have success , you will have to go to a recovery office but let's hope not because it will cost you a lot of money .
Regards ,
fanaudi .

Don't be so worried about ur data. There are some gud data recovery software available on internet. But first of all please stop using d drive anymore to increase d chances of recovering files. Then you need rely on professional data recovery tool. Download the software from the following sites http://www.recoverdeletedfile.org and follow the steps
1. Install the software on ur computer.
2. Connect the drive to computer.
3. select the drive(usually G or H for external drive) , click Start. Now the scanning process will start to search the deleted files. After a while you will then get a list of recoverable files.
4. Press Recover to perform full recovery.

Sounds like driver problem to me. Re install the driver by using installation disc, or if you have lost your CD, than use this Driver Update Software to update. I hope this helped.

Toshiba MK1059GSM sudden noise?

First backup all your data asap. Noises of this type are a sign of a failing drive.

Then run the extended test... http://gsmartcontrol.berlios.de/home/index.php/en/Home

You should be able to replace the drive with in the one year warranty period.

My hard drive is beeping and "clicking" non stop

the drive is defective. that clicking noise is the read head not aligned properly. take the hard drive out of the enclosure and place it in the freezer for about an hour and see if it works long enough to the data off it, but ultimately you will need a new hard drive.

Prepare your 1 TB external hard disk?

You would prepare it by formatting it. If your BIOS supports boot from USB then you could make it into a bootable disc drive with any OS you wanted.
