You will have to go into your computer video card's control panel, and configure both the dual screen mode and the resolution of each screen.
Some screens get crazy when the resolution doesn't fit properly, so try changing resolution if you keep having that problem.
Good Luck!

How do I connect my laptop to my TV

Connecting your laptop or PC to your tv is pretty simple. Just check both your computer and television to find out what connections they have in common. If by some chance you have no connections matching up, you can always buy adapters to make your connection types match.
Once you've passed the stage of physically connecting your computer to your television you'll have to select the correct input on your TV. Just like when using your DVD player, select the input that your computer is connected to using your remote. This input might be called something like AV1 or AV2. You should see this on the television screen.

The following is a list of the different types of cables/connections you will have to choose from with picture quality ranging from highest to lowest :

I can't get the tv to program the cable connection to watch cable

use a scart lead to connect your cable tv box. then on your tv remote press the "source" button or press the "AV" button, you mainly have the options to choose AV1 and AV2 (AV2 is only available if your tv has 2 scart sockets) make sure the box is on and select any AV channel, you should now have cable tv.

You need a male to male VGA cable long enough to reach from your laptop's location to the rear of your TV. Connect this cable to the "PC Input" on your TV and the "VGA out" on your laptop. Select "PC Input" on your TV's remote and you should see your laptop screen. Your resolution will probably drop down, but this is normal as it is a bigger screen than the laptop expects to see. If you get "No Input" message on your TV, try using the "Fn" button together with whatever function button shows a picture of two monitors separated by a slash. This should switch the screen to the TV.

Trying to connect dell desktop to my Samsung DLP HL-R5064W tv through vga cable to watch movies. Toggle source button on remote to pc, but receive an out of range message. please help

Hi,

"Out of range" message indicates that the output from your computer to display it from your Samsung HLR5064W DLP TV is too large. You need to adjust the screen resolution settings for you TV. I have attached images of display settings dialog boxes from different versions of Windows.

You may open the display settings of your computer by clicking on START > CONTROL PANEL > DISPLAY. While your TV is connected, click on IDENTIFY button. You will notice that numbers 1 and 2 will appear briefly on your screens consecutively. As the dialog box shows 2 monitors with numbers 1 and 2, click on the monitor with "2" on it. Then, adjust resolution to 1280 x 720 as this is the highest resolution your TV can handle. You may adjust the TV (monitor #2) to be IDENTICAL or to EXTEND the display of your computer. You can also assign it as the main monitor but not recommended. Click OK then try to toggle your computer's display. You should be able to see a display from your TV this time.

I hope this works for you. Kindly reply for further assistance. Good Luck!

Sorters -

Re-connect to me on the chat and we'll get this sorted. I'm really sorry - I got disconnected and the system would not allow me to reconnect to you. I have some ideas but chat would be easiest. If you don't want to chat, post a message here and I'll message back with some things to try.

Changing the Input settings within an Activity:

1. Login to your Harmony Remote Account.
2. Click on the Settings button next the Activities you are having issues with.
3. Choose Review the settings for this Activity.
4. When the software asks What input does the TV need to be on, change these to the correct settings.
5. Continue through the setup until you are brought back to the Home Screen.
6. Click on the Update remote button and follow the on screen steps.
7. Once the update is completed, please test the Watch TV Activity.

I have a logitech 890. The remote only turns the tv on and off but nothing else.

this remote has a help button to resolve setup issues. you should see a message on the screen ask ing if you need help. If not this function can be activated using the setup software. Try using the remote to watch TV. Then press the help button(be sure to have the remote pointed at the TV). The remote will attempt to fix itself. the screen will then ask if that fixed the problem-choose yes or no. Continue to follow the prompts until everything is the way you want it.
This should get everything working for you. I assume you did connect the remote to your computer and went through the setup software.
I use this remote and I love it. Just be sure when using it to give time for it to send commands to all the devices.

Connecting pc to grundig32 tv - msg out of range

I am going to suggest with that message, the the TV does not understand the signals it is getting from the PC.

Reboot the laptop while connected to the TV, and turn the TV off, then On, while the PC is connected. If you continue to get the message, look in the manual for the TV to determine the reason for the message.
