I had the same problem. i accessed the engineer menu. while the samsung is powered off, you press info, then menu, then mute and then power on. you will get a new menu and from there you pick the option block. here, you have an option for 'shop' mode. disable that. Voila. worked for me. should work for you unless a different problem.

Samsung LE40R71B flickering problem

appears other people are having the same issue with Samsung TV's.

Try calling Samsung or wherever you bought it from.

I've been dealing with Samsung on this issue.

We got a 40" LCD in October 2010 and it started flickering January 2012.

Changing it from 'standard' to 'movie' helped (natural and dynamic flicker)

Then it started flickering in 'movie.'

I called Samsung and told them this issue is all over the internet. They agreed to pay for repair, parts and labor, even though it's out of warranty.

The guy just left and this is what I know. He said that in the 46" and larger, the issue is a jumper. In the 40" and, I think, smaller, it's the panel. He's ordering the panel and will be back to replace it when it comes in from the warehouse in CA.

Try calling Samsung and good luck!

On instruction from Samsung I pressed MENU and VOLUME buttons on the side of the set and hold for 7 seconds The display reverts to Standard from Dynamic. The Remote Options button showed Store Demo, but now shows Standard. All memory functions seem to function now. Thanks for your help.

Samsung lcd tv le32r8 (Picture - Movie setting)

The TV is probably in Shop mode, when your TV is initially turned on you can choose between Shop mode or Home Mode.
In Shop mode the TV automaticly returns to the standard setting after a while, they do this so customers can "play" with it.

Press down de Volume button and then hold down the Menu button for five seconds on the side panel of the tv.
