Frigidaire Affinity panel turns on (lights up), even counting down, but the dryer won't tumble or heat. Help?!

Hi margaretc920 - Often when a dryer turns but will not heat, it is because either a fuse from the fuse box is blown or the switches on the breaker tripped, depending on your house. If your house uses fuses, there are two house fuses that supply voltage to the dryer circuit in your fuse box. If one of the two fuses is blown, the unit may turn but will not heat. Check and replace fuse in fuse box if necessary. However, if the house has circuit breakers, there may be two breakers with switches that supply voltage to the dryer and if one is tripped the unit as well will experience this issue. The heater of a dryer requires 220 to 240 volts to operate. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household breaker to the off position. Wait approximately two minutes, turn on the dryer and select a normal cycle. If the issue persists, it could also potentially mean a number of other things: defective cord, wiring, control board or door switch. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose the dryer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

Amana Gas dryer runs but ingniter won't glow and gas valve won't open

That means no power is getting to the gas assembly. The number one suspect would be the fuse which mounts directly on the blower housing right next to the control thermostat.

Amana front loading washer won't run after power outage. Panle does light up.

Possible that the program controller unit has failed if there is no display or power in the indication. You will need to remove panel to check on the fuse and if the new fuse fails it is possible there are error or hardware failure within the board.
Please remove and check the power panel for shorted drive, rectifier or capacitor, if not the panel must be replaced.

My central air unit has stopped working. The outdoor fuses were blown and we replaced them but it still wont turn on

If the outdoor fuses blew, it is usually for a reason.. There may be an electrical failure in the unit itself which caused this. Most AC units have fuses in the indoor unit as well, but I would suggest getting a Tech to trace the reason the fuses blew in the first instance. Replacing blown fuses sometimes works but a lot of thime, more damge is caused to the unit. You usually know this when the unit goes "bang" and the fuses blow again when turned on...

My amana window unit blew a fuse in my fuse box I replace it now thw window unit won't come on

Candy, if the fuse blew in the first place, it was either overloaded or the AC unit has an electrical short in it. However, it may not come on now, without turning the Master Switch on the AC unit OFF and unplugging it from the outlet. Wait 10 minutes before plugging it back in. Then turn the unit ON. If it functions properly then the problem is solved. If not, the circuit board in the unit has been fried and will have to be replaced. Also, be sure that only the AC is plugged in to this receptacle. More than one will overload the fuse/circuit.

Hope this information helped you. Please rate my reply.

Three phase house wiring, i want diagram with electrical symbols

What kind of diagram are you looking for? Large business and warehouses have 3 Phase. I've not heard of a house. but let me know. Typically 110 comes out of one breaker and one neutral wire (and saftey ground is 3rd) 220 comes out of two hot leads and one neutral wire (single phase). 3 phase comes out of 3 hot leads and one neutral but is still 220 volt.

Heat worked fine all winter. Turned on A/C and blew a fuse. Replaced 3amp fuse and worked for a few minutes and blew another fuse. Checked all connections, filter, obstructions, need help...

If your blowing fuses then you have something grounded or shorted. By grounded I mean a wire has come loose and is touching the cabinet or a part that allows it to go to ground or your motor, capcitor or compressor is shorted.

125 v 4 amp fuse keeps blowing

if you plugged a 125 volt tv in to a 220 volt outlet you more than likely fried alof of the componets in the tv. Putting a bigger fuse in there is only going to increase the risk of it catching on fire so i would not recomend that. you might replace the power supply and cross your fingers and hope that nothing else cooked when the 220 volts hit it

My AMANA electric drier will not heat

Verify 220 volts to the terminal block where the cord connects.
If 220 is there, unplug the dryer and check the thermal fuse and hi-limit thermostats on the dryer cannister.

No power

It is obvious that you also blew out your fuse. It is easy enough to get to though if you will just take the cover off (just a few screws) and be sure the unit is unplugged. The fuse will be at the far backright as you look from the front. It is a ceramic fuse and not one that you can see through. Take it off and get the right replacement fuse. Home Depot or Lowes or electronic supply house and help you with that. Put the new one in and put everything back together and you should be back in business.
