Master gourmet rice & slow cooker manual

I need one as well. I know the basics of slow cookers, my question isn't there. I do know to start the slow cooker part early, it has a knob for off-low-high-warm so I just follow basic slow cooker recipes & instructions. I do know to push the lever down on the rice cooker side to start cooking. Since I misplaced the instructions basically I need to know how much rice/water to put in & about how long it takes to cook it, but I'd like the manual anyway. master gourmet rice & slow cooker model #02241

I have a cookwell steamer and want to steam some sweet potato but dont know what intensity and how long to steam it for

Hello,

I also enjoy sweet potatoes very much. My rule of thumb is steam until fork tender.

For whole sweet potatoes, I suggest 20 minutes minimum and checking every 10 minutes unitl fork tender, medium setting.

For cut up sweet potatoes, I would think it would be done in 8-12 minutes depending on the cut size.

Just make sure the steamer doesn't run out of water. I would also suggest grilling sweet potatoes (delicious!).

I hope this helps. Please rate my solution.

I need instructions on how to use my Black and Decker Rice Cooker Plus Model RC436. Where can I easily access online instruction manual or who can I talk to to get one?

I believe they are all pretty similar. I searched but had no luck finding a manual for that exact brand.. but I DID find this

It is for a similar rice cooker, same brand, different model number. You can try looking through the document and see if it works for you.

Hope that helps!

Rice Measurements

You use one cup of water for each cup of uncooked rice. You end up with about 2 cups of cooked rice for every cup of uncooked rice. Different varieties, such as brown rice, take more water, up to 2 cups of water per cup of uncooked rice. If the resulting rice is too dry, you can add more water and restart the cooker.

I am not sure, but I believe that 16 cups refers to cooked rice, so you should not put more than 8 cups of uncooked rice in the cooker.

Measurements for Rice

Most of my experience with the rice cookers is that they require a japanese rice Cup which is different than the japanese regular cup. makes a whole lot of not sense but i found a replacement cup at one of the local Japanese Markets if you had to you could use regular measuring cup and use the 160ml for your measure. also the cup has a "Inomata" on it so maybe the web can help you

Here are the instructions that came with the cooker:

Cooking times may vary due to variations in microwave ovens. Adjust cooking times for best results in your oven.

2. Pour 1 cup of uncooked rice into the bottom of the basket, rinse rice thoroughly with cold water.
3. Transfer the rinsed rice from the basket to the bottom of the cooker.
4. Add 1 1/2 cups of water and 1 tsp salt (salt is optional).
5. Secure lid and lock clamps. Open vent holes.
6. Microwave on medium setting (50%) for 10 - 12 minutes (white rice) or 18-20 (brown rice).
7. Remove from microwave, close vent holes and let stand with the lid fastened for 4-5 minutes (the steam continues to cook the rice.)
8. Remove rice from the cooker and fluff with a fork.
Yields: 3 cups of cooked rice or 4 to 6 servings.
Cooking Potatoes and Vegetables:
1. Insert Basket.
2. Pour one cup of water plus 1/4 tsp. salt into the bottom of the cooker.
3. Peel vegetables (if desired), cut into evenly sized pieces and place inside basket.
4. Secure lid and lock clamps. Close vent holes.
5. Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes.
6. Remove from microwave and let stand with lid fastened for 3-4 minutes (the steam continues to cook the vegetables.)

Rice cooking

if that rice when cooked is too soft or too hard.. then , you might want to add more water to it. the correct ratio for cooking rice is always 1 cup rice and 1 cup water. it also depends on what type of rice your cooking though, some type of rice become too mushy when too much water is added... so always have some minimal water to the uncooked rice.
