You have not understood the problem. This is something to do with cmyk or rgb. The picture shows like a colour negative and then prints same. Happens to jpg files but a pdf is ok. The jpg files used to print ok but now don't.

When the document is at print preview, there is an option to select the printer on the upper left side. Just click the arrow down to replace the selected printer.

Or go to printer and faxes and set your default printer to get the correct printer.

Please post comments if you need more help.

If it is blurred picture, one of the cartridges it empty or very low . Prompted the printer to use other color. Just replace the empty or low catridges. regards

How can I print pictures already on my computer but after trying to edit/brighten them they will not print. Why?

Since you are using software to modify your print and you save your changes you may have overlooked making sure your file is kept as .jpg.
i use Adobe and after modifying my photos it will default to a Adobe file type unless I check.
so when saving changes make sure it is the same type you started with.
you can select "save as" to lett you confirm file extension (.jpg, . JPEG etc)

How do i change the zoom levels of my computer

If you are talking about a internet browser usually it's Ctrl + to zoom in or Ctrl - to zoom out

If you are talking about screen resolution than:

1. Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings.

2. Under Resolution, move the slider to the resolution you want, and then click Apply.
FILE > PRINT PREVIEW Prior to printing, got to the print preview screen. There will be a window of the print there and as/if you chance any settings, the print preview window will show (exactly) what the printed page will look like.

FILE > PRINT OPTIONS There you can set the header and footer margins. If nessassary.

My SX10 is supposed to have a maximum of ten megapixil but no matter if I set it at ten or any setting above the minimum it always takes the picture at the minimum megapixil. Where am I going wrong?

You aren't doing anything wrong, set your camera at the highest resolution and you will have a "large" picture file. If you are shooting jpg format then it's a compressed file from the actual "RAW" file that was produced. However RAW files require special programing to open and use while jpg file format is the "standard" to which all printers and other devices work. I have an 8 meg camera that constantly produces 4, 5 and 6 meg photo files in jpg format and from this I can print and have printed poster size images from 20x30 and 36x40.

The RAW file contains all the data as captured by the sensor. The JPG is processed, applying the white balance, sharpening, contrast, and other settings as set on the camera. You can change the settings on a RAW file and produce new JPG files at will. If you're going to be doing much work with the picture, you're much better off starting from the RAW.

An imperfect analogy is to think of the RAW file as the negative and the JPG as a print produced from the negative.

Nef images instead of jpegs

Not sure I see a question as printed but I will assume you'd like some info on NEF versus JPG files. Simply put, if you're shooting simple pictures and just want to download, email, etc. then JPG will be fine. NEF produces an electronic equivalent negative meant to simulate a film negative. This gives you latitude to touch up the negative before printing and provides the most adjustment range and options. Many programs cannot use the NEF format so it will mean deciding how you want to save the pictures. Of course, they take up more file space as NEF - 10-12 MB instead of 6MB or so for big JPG files. I shoot all my pictures in NEF then convert them to JPG for normal use and printing. I burn the NEF to a CD or DVD for archive and future needs. All that takes up more space of course.

My 8500N prints reams of code instead of the jpg sent to print

First off and I am sure you have tried this, but power of then power up your printer. Just to allow it to reload the software internally.
The other thing is to change drivers. That is what is generating the code.
You can go to there is a varity of drivers to try. Sometimes a PS and PCL driver will intrepert differently and print code like that.
Not sure preview is where the problem is. But I am assuming it prints fine in other applications.
There is also a firmware update on the site, you can upload the newest printer software there. Or at least start out with a clean version on your printers operating software.
I strongly suspect a driver change will help.
