A code to use what? The radio? what brand is it? If it's a Kenwood, there's a bit of hope. If it's a factory unit (i.e, GM, Volvo, Volkswagen, etcc), you have to take it to a dealership, Need more info.

Hi,i bought an 04 fiat stilo 3 weeks ago. the radio worked fine on the way back from dealers but then stopped all of a sudden a week later, the very next day the whole car battery was drained and had to get...

If your battery keeps dying, I recommend you get the alternator checked. I must admit that I chuckled a little at your post (having AA look at your car, I'm sure you meant AAA). If you need the code for your radio, you can go to www.radio-code.com. But I would have your alternator looked at first. This may be the source of a draining battery. If it's ok, you might want to have a mechanic look at the vehicle.

I changed the battery in my 2006 Honda Civic, last night and now my radio is not working

When you disconnect the power from the radio like this it needs a security code to get it working again as the radio automatically locks up when the power is removed as an antitheft measure. These codes are individual to the radio itself and you will need to contact your local Honda Dealer with the VIN number of the car and proof of owndership in order to get the code.

Luckily Honda are the only manufacturer that I know of that will provide the code to you for free. You can also get this code online direct from Honda if you are already registered in their database as the owner of the car. For more information on how to do it this way see this FixYa Tip.

Again it is free to do it this way.

Hope it helps. Please do take a moment to leave a vote for the solution.

When undoing the battery the radio wont turn on again appearing need to input again the security code

By design whenever a "code radio" loses power such as disconnecting the battery upon power up u will have to enter the correct code in the correctv sequence. The logic behind this is the radio doesnt know if its being stolen or not, but thats the security aspect of the design.

I need the radio code for my 2004 Civic Honda I should have received a card with the code I changed the battery, but I don't have the code Can somebody help me?

Take photo ID, registration, and title with you to the dealership. This proves you are who you say you are, and that the car in question is yours. The dealer can look up the code based on your VIN number, but they rarely do it for free - they may charge you up to an hour's labor to do it. Make sure that they write down the code for you, and they show you how to enter it as well. That'll save you another return trip if the stereo loses power again.
