Alright, I unplugged the TV and plugged it back in. It's working again. What's up with my TV? Why did it go black?

First thing I need you to try is to change the input cables around and see if you can pick up the signal that way. use an input that you haven't used before and while your at it. do a re boot on the sat reciever, I mean pull the card out and power it down, put the card in and power back up. This will take several minuts but it may just need to be re-set. Also if this does not help. Try re-booting the set, unplug overnight and let it set as long as you can, then plug it in and turn it on and see if it gets restored. This is uncommon so I don't wan't to make any guarantees yet. While your in the menu check and make sure your selecting the correct settings of for the devices, make sure some how things didn't get changed. If all else fails you may have a bad tuner board on the set, but like I said this is unusuall. Let me know tomorrow if any of these worked.

  • Here are some quick notes on solving the usual issues like this. My or may not coincide with your issue but here is something else to try.

  • Plug in the television.

  • Change the batteries in the remote control. When the batteries are dead or low, the remote will not communicate with the TV.3

  • Secure all the cables for external devices, such as a DVD player, into the correct connections on the TV. Loose and incorrectly attached cords will keep the TV from working properly.

  • Unplug the TV and wait five seconds. Plug it back in. Many problems, such as a TV or HDMI device that is unresponsive to the control panel or remote control, resolves itself using this step.

  • Press the "Input" button on the remote control to switch the view signal to the external device you want to use. If there isn't a device connected to an input then there will not be a picture when you select that input.

  • Turn the "Input Lock" off if you are unable to view the signals for the external devices, such as a DVD player, or you are unable to view Channels 3 or 4.

  • Turn the "Channel Block" off or add the channel to the "Channel Add/Delete" feature if a channel has stopped appearing.

  • Turn the closed captioning off if there is an empty black box on the screen. The box might be empty if the channel or program does not have closed captioning.

Sometimes these things just need to be re-set. They run so long and the built in memory gets full and just like people they need a nap now and then. Glad this helped without a service call.

Do this test first. With the TV on normally, shine a flashlight on the screen. look for a dim moving picture.
    1) If you see one, the backlight led driver isn't working.
    2) If you DON'T see a picture replace the T-Con board.

I have an 82" Mitsubishi DLP tv. I have replaced the lamps 3 times and just replaced the ballast. I am still getting 6 red blinks and 1 yellow

I hate being the bearer of bad news, had the same problem, and I found out that the problem with DLP is that after so long, nothing that you do will fix it. A TV repairman offered me $100 for my set and I took it, that was 2 years ago and it still goes through bulbs and ballast several times a year. Now when i see him he always says I never should have taken that TV. It never plays long enough to sell it.
On a liter note: 4k si approaching $1000 now, that's the way to go.

Most likely the LCD panel is failing. These are "stuck pixels". Common with early LCD displays used on DLP TVs.

My Toshiba 62HM95 62 in. HDTV DLP TV won't turn on...the green and red lights under the power button remain on and the red light flashes. How do I fix this?

Most likely, you need to replace your DLP bulb. The one that comes with your TV will last a few years max. The replacements seem to only last about a year. D:

Problem with Toshiba DLP Projection TV Model #52HM84

It is possible the lamps may be defective or that they may be the wrong replacement for this model, as it may have a different wattage setup with the ballast. If you want to try to order the TB25 lamp from a different vendor, you can order the original Toshiba replacement lamp for this model (52HM84) from a major Toshiba parts distributor at the link below:

Our newly purchased Toshiba - REGZA 42" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV has a fuzzy "snowy" picture. Direct TV is our satelite provider.

First check if this happens in other external video source as well, like DVD/CD/VCR, etc. If it does, get the set replaced under warranty.

If it happens only with the Direct TV setup, try unplugging the set top box from both power supply and TV. Wait about a minute and reconnect. If the problem is rectified, the issue is with the setop box. Call Direct TV in this case.
