Lexmark x2670 won't start up. There is no power and there very quite high pitched hum sound

Hello. First i would check the outlet that its plugged into. If plugged into a wall outlet, check to see if the circuit is tripped. Might have to reset the circuit. Next try a different power outlet. Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer and plug back in. If still not working, try a different comparable power cable. If that don't work either, check to see if the printer is under warranty with Lexmark and call the customer support line and see if they can place service on it. Hope that helps

Ge timer 15131 buzzing

Copy following link to see array of GE analog timers, including 15131: Model numbers and designs change as products are updated to meet new marketing objectives.

Information about 15131 analog timer:
Plug timer into different outlet to eliminate outlet-wiring as possible suspect.
If timer makes noise only when connected to one outlet, then test outlet for loose wires, and feel is outlet is warm, or circuit breaker is warm to touch to indicate electrical problem.

GE15131 is ordinary analog timer with small clock motor inside that rotates timer dial. Motor gears are plastic, and generally very quiet.
So the timer has small motor that could cause humming noise.
There is also a switch that could be partially burned, from use-and-age or overload, and that could be flickering, but you would expect that to happen only when light was ON, and light would probably flicker, or not turn on.
Buy another timer if noise is annoying. These timers have 1 year limited warranty, and can stop functioning within a year or two, just like a $10 Christmas toy might not function very long.
Analog timers sometimes work for many years.

Midiland 8200 (ADS 4000 controller) 5.1 hum problem

You may have an earth loop problem. This is caused by connect various equipment to different mains power outlets.
Connect all the PCs, audio and speakers to a single mains power outlet, use a power board so they are connected to the one mains power outlet.
I suggest you use a power board that has a built-in surge protection.

Humming sound,very noisey.

There are usually three reasons for the hum many of us guitarists experience. First, make sure it's not coming from your patch cable you use to connect to your amp. Guitarists who have been playing a while know that these cords need regular replacement.

Another common problem is the electrical outlet it's being plugged into. Often times, if plugged into a different outlet, preferably one that it does not have to share, your amp noise can be reduced.

A great product to have is a line hum reducer, which you plug into the outlet, then plug into that. They are great at reducing line hum, and usually listed on eBay or another retail online establishment dealing with electronics and electrical products. They can range from $7.00 to over $40.00, and in the case of these hum reducers, more expensive does not usually mean better.

Finally, another common and particularly annoying problem with regard to hum, is if your guitar's components are not properly shielded. Even if it comes from a good company adn is a good model, one may have to do some additional work to get it quiet.

Pickups and other electrical equipment inside a guitar pick up and transfer many frequencies of white noise, and it can be a real problem.

Your pickups and your electronics cavity can be completely shielded by using copper tape you can find on the internet. I purchase mine on eBay but you can find it at many places.

The tape is a flat copper strip with adhesive backing. It comes in different widths, even small sheets to cover the inside back of your electronics cover in back of your guitar. The pots should be loosened from the body of the guitar and pulled (gently) enough to work in the cavity (no need usually to remove them - so no cutting of wires and resoldering is necessary in MOST models).

Loosen the screws and pull your pickups and surround them with the tape, and insulate the pickup cavities you pulled them out of as well. Do not remove your pickups completely - just move them out of the way as you work. Be careful not to pull apart any of your solder connections, or you will have to resolder or pay someone to resolder them. More work than necessary.

So these are the big top three. They are all non-complicated fixes, and following the steps I wrote should get you noticed for your guitar playing, and not for your humming.

I hope this helps. Thank you for using FixYa.

Bought a used Martin Logan Dynamo subwoofer a couple days ago and have a very loud hum when the ac cord is plugged in, even if the speaker is not connected to an audio source. The "hum" can be heard in any...

Neither the amp or the sub have grounded power cords.

I have discovered the ML Dynamo takes about 30 minutes to switch to standby in auto mode.

With speaker level inputs connected to the Onkyo A807 amp, both units powered from the same wall outlet, Dynamo sub on Auto, the sub hums for about half an hour after the Onkyo is switched off, then the sub goes quiet. Not so good.

I connected a bonding wire between the two units on 3_7_09. If I smoked some old audio gear I could just look at that as an opportunity, right?

Works fine. Now I have the ML powered from the wall and working normally.

Actually the problem was caused by a bad 470uf cap, that was used to filter the powersupply for all the analog amps. Replaced the cap the unit works like new.
