SOURCE: Thermador SC301T heating elements not working (top

Its the thermal safety switch. When it trips - it cuts any power from reaching BOTH elements. Open the oven door - at the top wehere the oven latch is - remove the long black panel. In the middle - on the right is a small cylindrical switch...push down on the top - in the very center...it will rest the switch (like a circuit breaker) and then reassemble. Just did it on mine (2nd time) and it fired right up. Good luck

I have an Inglis IEE31301. The stove elements work but the oven does not heat up. I cannot find any manuals for this model, and I don't know if it has a oven thermal fuse or a regular fuse that needs...

ovens r simple - turn sw on, element heats up. Except ovens usually have timers on them.
start by verifying NEITHER bake or broil works.
If one does - high probability the other element needs replacing.
If neither do u will need an ohmmeter to trace the open back to the plug. There is a possibility BOTH elements r out, not very likely, but start by ohming out both. Don't know what resistance is but it will be less than 1000 ohms. Without a schematic - and u may find one inside the unit - u will have to physically eyeball the wiring.

Fisher and Paykel Paprika Oven Top Elements Full hot!!

No controller. The switch for each element (called a simmerstat) is what controls the heat. It is a common fault and will be fixed if you instal new simmerstat for each faulty element.

Is the top heating element inside the oven supposed to get hot even if not set on broil?

Yes the top element does get hot even on bake but it does not get red hot just hot. It will get hot enough to burn you so be very carful.

My oven is burning my baked goods, but shows the right temp with a thermometer. Do I have to turn the dial to broil and then back to the desired temp? Even if the rack is in the middle, everything burns....

If it is convection bake you have to turn the temp down (25 degrees or so) that is listed in the recipe.

The broil setting is not used to bake because it operates differently from the bake setting. So, don't go to the broil setting at all.
The element for bake is under the floor of the oven. You have not indicated whether it is gas or electric, but both of these can have issues with the burner or element.

If you are baking on the correct setting and the oven is heating from the bottom, not the top, this can be caused by hot spots that are created by elements/burners.

to check, look under the floor of the oven. Turn the bake heat up to high and see if the flame is uneven. For an electric oven, the color of the element should be evenly red, no brown spots.

If you are using an oven thermometer, move the thermometer to the spot in the oven that seems to be burning things the most.

    Vent fan stays on

The fan was on because the griddle element was on. 1/2 of the element was on so 110 volts was on at all times. If I had not been close to the oven and heard the fan I might never have found this problem. I replaced the infinite switch and that solved the problem. I found the model # inside the drip jar door. Problem solved.

    Element will not turn off

Sounds like the contacts inside the switch have welded themselves together. You will need to replace the switch. (the one that you mentioned "clicked" to off) If you like, post an Ask Me with your full model number and I will look up the part number for you. This is a fairly easy repair.

    GE Stove:

The symptoms suggest that the control relay has welded contacts. This was a result of the element failure producing a surge of current. You will need to replace the electronic control. Another possibility is to contact the folks at www.cgiltd.com.
    They offer a repair service.

    Oven heating element stays on

If element stays on even with oven turned off you probably have a bad main board. A relay on board is probably stuck on. If it stays on, but at a reduced heat...not getting red hot, it may be from a shorted wire causing 110 volts to get to element.
