Does somebody sell rubber traction bands or straps to put over the rear plastic wheels of my grand daughter's gator, so the wheels don't spin quite so much on the grass?

You can get them on ebay but be careful cause that will put more pressure on the gearboxs

SOURCE: wheel spinning / traction issue on toy gator

First off, keep in mind that there are reasons why they make the wheels of this slipper plastic - like reducing the risk of burning out the motor. That said, you know those rubber pedal extenders for infants (the things that come with 2 wooden blocks and a large rubber band, they 'may' be big enough to stretch around your wheels. Also have a look around for LEGO rubber tracks. There are some out there that may be large enough as well. Check here.

Where can i get a rubber tires for a Peg Perego John Deere Gator HPX 12 Volt Ride on Toy?

the whole tire would be difficult to replace with a rubber one, but you can put bmx tires on the plastic wheels and that will give much greater traction, but shorten the life of the gearboxes. here is a link to how to do it.

I want to add additional traction to my John Deere electric Gator. I have heard that you can somehow slip a bicycle tire over the plastic tires. Has anyone done this and how do you do it?

Gator lt wheel doesn't turn when in grass/ slips easily and need

only one wheel is driven in slow !
fast engages the other motor [2 wheels drive]
the wheels being plastic or poly wont grip & on the early gators as there is no speed controler in the system to prevent wheel spin!
only other way would be to add rubbr cleets to the wheels! or try changing to wheel barrow or scooter style pump up wheels
if you need more help just email me as i can help with modifaction process like more powerfull motor setup etc etc.

Rear wheels-

Both wheels should spin in 2nd gear. Only one wheel may spin in 1st, but if you put a little pressure on the one wheel that spins it should make the other wheel start spinning.
But both wheels should spin in high gear at the same time.
Hope this helps. If there is more help you can also ask these guys at this website. http://www.shopjandl.com/ I get my parts from them and they seem to also work on them as well

I had a similar problem, On inspection I found out the rubber wheels in the paper tray section were missing ( Some kinda manufacturing fault) (or somebody played a very absurd joke on me) anyways I put rubber bands on those plastic rollers and Viola its perfect...

Procedure:

1. Remove paper tray
2. turn your printer upside down
3. u will see two wheels connected with a lever
4. check if they have rubbers on them
5. if not , role a rubber band on them .

hope that helps...
