Kenwood stereo 6 Stack stereo on boat. Doesn't receive AM. FM ok. Doesn't seem to be sensitive to whether the aerial is plugged in or not.

There could be a problem with the port the aerial is plugging into, what you can do is examine the ports for defects ,
1.) open it up
2.) look at the port, there should be solder holding it in place as well as solder holting the connection pins in place.
3.) resolder the pins
4.) turn it back on taking care not to touch the circutis
5.) gently plug back in the antenna and shake it slightly to ensure iys working.
6.) turn it of disconect it and reassemble it.

That should work if not let us know and we can be of further assistance. Do Not Rate Until YOu Are satisfied with your experts Responce or the Problem has been resolved

When i connected my stereo in my truck it worked when i had my headlight out but when i turn on my headlights my radio turns off what could be wrong?

sounds like the extra load of the headlights is pulling the available power to the stereo down below the operational threshold. I would check the supply voltage without the headlight on and then again with the headlight on. If the supply is dropping way down then that could be your problem. Make sure you have a really good ground to the stereo power supply. add a seperate dedicated ground wire and see if the supply voltage increases. also recheck all conections on the power side of the stereo and make sure that the conectors are clean and tight. Remember voltage is not amperage. what you need is amperage so those loose connections can cause a lose of working amperage. Just one loose connection on the supply voltage (+12 V DC) or the ground (the - on the batttery) can make a lot of difference.

I have some music and videos on a sd card but when i put the card into the p7290 plant audio radio slot it begins loading then just stops. would also like to know why when im listening to the radio the...

The sound issue could be due to the offset not being set correctly there should be an option for that on the stereo functions. Depending on the units capability's from a format stand point that could be the issue, check and see what type of files are on the card. Then see what kind your receiver accepts, then if they do accept them find another way to make sure the Sd card is viewable. The slot may be damaged.
