Goto start>network>network and sharing center>manage wireless networks. In there delete the old one and then try to connect to the router again.

Wireless card on packard bell laptop not working

I believe your problem is the network key, you changed it most likely. And you are now locked out of the network. The "key" in your computer must match the "key" in the access point (wireless router). WEP is a security protocol that runs on the wireless link. The 169 number tells me your wireless adapter can not create a link between it and the wireless router. So you are not connected. You'll need to get the "key" from the wireless router. Try entering 192.168.0.1 (that a guess on my part as to the number, generally this is the gateway address) as a web address on your desktop and look at the security settings in the wireless router.

Or else, restart the router and try to connect it again.. Anyone of this should work

Wireless router says its working laptop says no its not

Your sister was accessing the wireless access point at school which is connected to the Internet/WEB access via a router and the school's broadband service provider.
For you to access the Internet using your wireless adapter on your laptop, you need your own wireless access point and connect it to a broadband ADSL or cable modem and then connect it to an Internet Service Provider. Some Internet Service Providers (cable and ADSL) can supply a combined modem/router/wireless Access point.
If you already have a broadband modem all you need is a wireless access point/router. You only need to configure the wireless access point and your wireless adapter so they will communicate with each other. Folow the instructions in the manuals.

Need help with connect a d-link,dl 624 router

You wireless router/access point can host several simultaneous connections to the internet. Just connect your laptop to the wireless network as you would from your desktop computer.

Hope this helped.

I cannot detect my router

A first logical step would be to take your laptop to another wireless location and see if it will work there (you could also take the your wireless unit there to test it). Likewise invite a friend with a wireless enabled machine to visit you and see if they can see your wireless unit. There are three different types of wireless devices in common use A, B, G you need to know which your machine uses and which the wireless receiver uses and assure there is a match. Some devices support multiple types A&G, B&G and A&B&G as long as one matches between the wireless adapter and wireless router/access point assuming the others were not configured off the test should be valid.

Router WAN Light is Flashing and There is No Connection to Router or Access Point

Since any of these steps might restore connectivity, you may want to retest after each one where you've changed something. Test by pinging the router's or access point's IP. If the ping is successful, then you know that the connection is restored. See Testing Connections with Ping: http://www.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=252225&thid=102078 , which has simple instructions (and a few tips for advanced users). 1. Disable software firewalls and anti-virus software. (This must be done for the rest of the troubleshooting to succeed. After troubleshooting, you will want to consider turning these back on, again.) 2. Check whether the wireless computer gets a signal from the router or access point. If not then: 2a. Go to any computer that is wired to the router or access point, and open the configuration page to check the SSID, the region, the access list and WEP settings. 2b. Verify all the settings in Step 2a match the settings in the wireless computer. 2c. If WEP is enabled, verify that the WEP settings from Step 2a match the settings in the wireless computer. 3. If there is a signal from the router or access point to the wireless computer, then check for a valid computer IP address. (If it is 0.0.0.0 or 169.254.X.X, it cannot be a valid IP address.) 4. Reset the router or access point. If this does not solve the problem, then optimize your wireless transmission as described here: http://www.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=252225&thid=102079.
