Did you try aligning the crosshairs of red blue and green in convergence adjustment? Also what adjustment did you perform? Auto-adjust or 9-point adjustment?

Then you have everything that you should have. Can you get me a picture so that I can see the extent of the problem and tell you if it can be anything else?

Auto fine adjustment failure. Aha, did you purchase the board new or used? I have a gut feeling that the convergence amplifier ICs on the the replacement board are faulty as well.

Yes you can send the pic to goodwise24@gmail.com

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Mar 28, 2011

Woah! THat is terrible. They are not even close to aligning themselves. If I were you I would return the board and just replace the convergence amp ICs and resistors on the older board. I can confirm that they have sent you a faulty replacement

  • eagle338
    eagle338 Mar 28, 2011

Yes it is. I can assure you that. The fact that fine convergence adjustment is not completing confirms this

So you got that from Samsung? Thats very bad.on their part. One of the reasons I steer clear of Samsung if I can as I have done while purchasing my LED tv. I have sacrificed better picture quality by buying LG instead of Samsung coz LG tvs have never let me down

    eagle338 Mar 28, 2011

Ok. Partstore usually sells used parts. Next time you want to buy parts tryhttp://www.samsungparts.com/Default.aspx
They sell original samsung parts that are brand spanking new. Even though they cost a bit more they will last longer and are covered by a warranty of 1 year

Cool. You will need to perform auto-convergence adjustment after installing the board. So once it arrives install it, perform the adjustment and let me know how it goes

Do not use adjust the focus just yet. Be sure to perform the converegence adjustment first. I will give you precise instructions for adjusting the focus block depending on how the convergence adjustment turns out

Tv is yellow orange color what is problem

The model indicated does not have a "bulb" as it uses 3 picture tubes.

Examine the picture with color set at zero---stand back and look= if the screen has a mostly yellow (all or part of the screen) you have bad Glycol in the blue picture tube(if need explanation ask) and a look in the lens of the Blue tube will confirm this.

If able with back off and a small mirror look in each lens--red picture, green picture and blue picture.

If the Blue looks like a floodlight with little or no image--bad glycol in that tube.

Help with RCA projection TV P46812BL (chasis ptk195AA)

You have probably blown one of the convergence ICs. Effectively the easiest thing to do is replacing the whole convergence board, so that no soldering is involved.

Here you can buy a replacement convergence board, just select your model.

Let me know if you need further help.

Samsung HCN5527W

In what way is the color off? Does it appear like a 3D movie? If so, the convergence circuit has a problem. This could be as simple as a bad solder joint on the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Figure on $40-$60 for parts plus the local labor rate if you need a service center, just the parts cost if you fix it yourself.

Update this if you need further repair details.

Samsung hcn5527w convergance factory reset

Sorry, I just saw this post.
I hope this helps.

Yes there is one more step. You should call the technician out and have them set up the Magic Focus adjustments. I have serviced these televisions for years and I have made this mistake and had to return to fix it. You should not have to pay for a rework. The technician should have done the complete job the first time.

I hope this helps
and good luck.

Hitachi projection hdtv has 3d effect and bowed shape

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs.

I need help!

Michael,
the problem you are having is caused by bad convergance amplifiers along with open pico fuses internal to the set. these amps range from $45.00 to $65.00 each and both amps need to be replaced. this is a common problem with rear projection sets. these amps work very hard and are kept cool on large heat sinks. so with that a tech is needed to repair. techs may charge $150.00 to $350.00 for the labor. so shop around. as for the adjustments you made let the tech know because you may have set the settings far out of the range for the set and will cause shut down before it can be reset. the tech will know what to do. to find a factory athorized repair shop call samsung the number is in your manual or on line.

Samsung projection tv

Elissa, unless you have some basic electronics experience probably not, what your describing is one of the most common projection tv problems there is, but it will require replacing a few components on a circuit board. You will need to solder and possibly check resistance values of a few resistors. I will say there is no need for a samsung servicer, any tv repair place will know how to repair this problem. Probably will cost around 300 if you have somebody to your home. I don't think your looking for the Technical details but if so replace the 2 large STK amplifiers probably (STK392-040) and test all resistors and fuses in input/output ckts, replace accordingly.
