1. Locate and left click "Start" Button.
2. Then left click "My computer"
3. In the "My Computer" address bar copy and paste this file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ then press "Enter" on your keyboard.
4. Locate a randomly named file for example "hGdKHt0842", "GfdKHt0842" or anything else that looks familiar to the following examples.
5. Once file is located Right click on that file and press "Rename". Rename the file by copying and pasting C:\ProgramData\virus\virus1.exe
6. Then close all applications and "Restart" your laptop.
7. Once restarted "MS Removal" should not pop up at this point.
8. Then redo steps 1, 2 & 3. And then go ahead and Delete the renamed file C:\ProgramData\virus\virus1.exe
9. Empty your recycle bin.

It could be usually thats how they start. Do not respond to any kind of download they recommend. If you don't have anti virus you can download Avira here. It's free and will handle most usual problems.:
http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus
If you have anti virus runit now or soon, if you don't get this and try it. Are your popup's blocked? If you have questions let me know at "add a comment"

You may start getting alot of popups if you have a virus. It will get worse along with crashes and freezes. Again do not open these pop ups or agree to ant download you don't recognize. Let me know how you make out.

Ive been blue screened and can only access firefox and cannot open anything else.....MS removal tool keeps coming up

The MS Removal Tool is an infection categorized as a rogue anti-spyware program as it pretends to be an anti-virus program. You may need to boot to safe mode to remove it completely.
If you cannot do anything, you may want to try System Restore.
- Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.

If System Restore does not work, proceed to the next steps.
When installed, the infection files will be created in a random named folder such as the ones below:
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\\
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\\
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\\.exe

In order to view and delete these files you must unhide files and folders.
  1. Double-click on the My Computer icon.
  2. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  3. After the new window appears select the View tab.
  4. Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Display the contents of system folders.
  5. Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders.
  6. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide file extensions for known file types.
  7. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files.
  8. Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer.

Download Malwarebytes from this link.
After Malwarebytes is downloaded, double click the downloaded file to install the application on your computer. Once installed, double click on the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO icon to start the program.
When the application is open, select Scan and the application will guide you through the remaining steps
Hope this helps.

Ms removal tool - virus how can i remove it

Hi there!
Download and install Malwarebytes in your computer. It should automatically update to the latest database version. Run a full scan and it will detect the virus infection in your computer. Remove all infections found and do not restart the computer yet. Click on the quarantine tab and select delete all. Reboot the computer and it should be working fine.
For complete guide, you can visit this website: Remove MS Removal tool.
Hope this helps.

Use another PC and get a flash drive. Go to http://www.malwarebytes.com and get the free download. Put the .exe file on your flash drive then while disconnected from the network, install and run the malwarebytes program (quick scan) on your pc (if it boots up). If you get that far, then get online and update the malwarebytes program and then run it again with the updates. Good Luck.

When you power on your computer, in bios screen, press repeatedly F8 key until on screen it's appeared options to choose normal start or safe mode. From that list choose "Last known good configuration", after that you can choose an earlier restore point for your computer, before MS Removal Tool have been instaled.

You need a decent antivirus program to tackle this.

if its already infected your pc, you have following option:

save all docs to external hdd or cd/dvd, and run recovery on pc/laptop. (back to original factory settings)

or take out hdd, attach it to another pc / laptop which is not infected and run virus scan on the infected hdd. (you will require appropriate SATA / IDE /USB connector cables for this process).

Let me know how you get on!
