Question about Projection Televisions

Red convergence My mitsubishi ws 65809 has a red onvergence problem. I cannot adjust the red lines up and down and the corners are way out of alignment. the tv was manufactored in december of 2001.

You ned to replace both convergence ICs they are Both STK392-570 You can get replacement ICs at the following link with free instalation instructions with pictures. Heres the link.

Curved top bottown, now ws 65809 turns off.


Your convergence has failed and need to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed.

It needs to be repaired by having the convergence ICs replaced or resoldered (if intermittent).

Parts are STK 392-570. Be sure to use thermal paste on the ICs.

Mitsubishi WS-65809 convergence problem


I know these sets very well and have posted instructions here for the chip replacement many times.

if i understand you right your blue convergence is off? and you have tried to go into the adjustment for the convergence? now do you crosshairs move up and down and left and right? on bpth red and blue. I see two possiblitys for this your convegence output ics commonly called stks or and you convergence ouput resistors. not a difficult repair for most shops and aroud 250 for parts and labor the ic run about 45 apeice

Convergence is off - Blue and Red are fine Green will not line up


On most units, the Green is constant and the Red and Blue are adjustable. Here are 2 links on how to manually adjust the convergence. There is a menu option using the remote control. Once there, you will find step by step procedure on how to adjust the convergence. Hope this helps answer your question. All the best!

No Red, can't adjust Red convergence, Blue works fine


looks like the red "bulb" has blown.
you need to replace but can be expensive.

replace vertical IC and shadows/ghosting the problem is either electrolytic capcitor or video IC or convergence adjustment
