Unfortunately there is no fix for this. it shorted out the system and you will need a new computer. Seeing that a electric shock from a human hand to the motherboad can destroy a computer then the shorting out from an outlet will definitely destroy the computer.

How do I charge my Motomaster Mobile Power Pack Model 11-1540-2?

It should have a small 120V to DC wall adapter charger with a DC wire / connector jack that plugs into the back of the power pack. Plug the wall adapter into 120V outlet and plug the DC connector jack into the back of the Power Pack. Leave on charge until the unit indicates it is charged fully (several Hours if it was fully discharged).

Compaq has flashing lightning bolt when I turn it on and never reaches POST. Fans come on randomly for a second and machine turns off and back on. Any ideas?

this is a power issue.Chasing down the cause is a little more hard. For instance it could be a short in the wall power supply, such as a kinked cord or fray. It can also be a DC jack on the port of the computer where you plug the wall jack into. if the wall jack is getting power, then that means that the AC to DC is going good. or wall to brick, however it does not mean that the power supply is good.
here is a link that will help you determine if the DC jack is bad. you will need a volt meeter and know how to use it.
http://www.fixya.com/support/r4470659-laptop_dc_jack_know_its_bad
If it is the DC jack its self then it falls into a couple of categories. The first is you can solder it back to the board if it is loose. However if it is broken internally on the jack then the jack will need replaced. A service shop will generally do these for $55-135 depending on your location. But online tutorials will help you if you want to task it on your own. since you did not list the model number I cant tell you a specific site.

I lost the small clip that is inserted into the timer at the time yo want the lights to come on,.

Trippers for low voltage timers are not available at Malibulights.com or Intermatic, or ebay.
That explains why folks ask power pack questions on fixya instead of finding results at the manufacturer's website.
New Malibu power packs are electronic and not mechanical

'Harry' wrote me about a work-around for lost trippers.
He bought ordinary 3-prong wall timer, and then set malibu power pack override to ON, and then plugged power pack into wall timer. 3-prong timers sell for $10 at Walmart and Target.

I put my busted power pack on a remote timer, but I like timers.

My research into power pack issues resulted in tips for maintaining and setting up power packs.
The reason I add these tips now, before your power pack needs replacement is some fella wrote-in.
He bought 500 Watt power pack to replace 300 Watt > thinking bigger was better.
Power pack burned out. Here's why:
1) Match wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack
-15 each X 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts, so install 300Watt power pack
2) Installing a 500W power pack on 300W of bulbs will burn out bulbs and power pack.
3) Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and power pack will burn out.
4) When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or it may burn out.

How to troulbe shoot my 300-Watt Power Pack/Timer. it doesnt turn on but it does turn off on time. had this product for 4 years and just now started having problems with the timer.

'Harry' wrote to me yesterday with handy malibu information.
1) Power packs come with 5 year limited warranty.
He is contacting Malibulights.com for a refund of some type.
Hope he writes back and says how that comes out.
2) He was having problem and plugged power pack into wall timer, then set timer.
Heh heh, pretty clever: Malibu transformer works, but timer doesn't, so plug power pack into a wall timer!!

That being said, I had same problem with my power pack.
I used blower to remove dirt and sprayed wd-40 and tried to take it apart.
My power pack was getting electricity.
Connections were good where lights tie into wire.
My lights never turned off.

Power pack doesn't come apart.
I turned it upside down thinking water got into timer.
I took it inside and let it warm up.
It still wouldn't work so bought another one.
Then I searched Intermatic and Malibulights.com for answer, but they have no troubleshooting or repair other than check electricity and check bulbs.
Conclusion: when power pack doesn't work, it is broken.
Unless you buy a separate timer and plug power pack into that timer as Harry suggests.

After researching power packs at Intermatic, Malubulights.com, ebay etc, the best I found were tips for next power pack that might save money:

Left computer running with charger connected. Screen went blank and light showing power connected was no longer lit. New charger did not solve it. New battery (with some charge) worked. Still no charge so...

If your charger is working properly and the laptop is as well, then the laptop should work without a battery in it at all. If your new battery worked and laptop worked with it until the battery died, then the charger or charge port is damaged.

If it does not work with charger plugged in without a battery, then your charger(s) or the laptop charge port itself may be damage or broken. Or worse, the laptop may be dead.

If the laptop does nothing even with a good battery with charge (no fans, no boot, nothing on-screen, no noises) you're laptop could be dead; likely a burned motherboard or processor. It may have overheated or something along those lines.

You may need to have the DC Jack replaced. It appears to be shorted. Should only run about $50-75. Ask the cost estimate before leaving it. You may be able to shop around. Use the smaller MOM&POP shops rather than the STORES or GEEKS.
