Question about Tomtom GO 910 GPS Receiver

Tom tom 910 totaly frozen

My 910 is in the frozen state,it doesnt matter what i do ,reset time after time even got the black screen with white writing but sticks at retreving files,thats it,it wont connect to my computer,i bought it in the US just over a year ago never used it there only used it three times here,i did download updates from tom tom,and now i have a paper weight. As i dont have my original receipt tom tom want me to pay for the repair,i dont know what it will cost, but i hate paying for there mistakes as i thing when i downloaded updates they also included a virus for me, i am so sick of this thing the next nav tool i buy will be a map they are cheap and dont give you problems...

    first of all it would not switch on then i managed to get it on only for a small flashing cross to appear in the right hand corner so have been trying to reset many times now it will be reconized by the computer so how can i fix it without the computer (usb / stand connection) any idea,s model is a go 910 with out card

when you update the maps favorites are erased the favorites will also remain greyed out untill you have marked atleat one address or location as favorite

It is asking you IF you want to connect it to the computer. There is no problem with that. Every time you connect it to a USB port of a computer you are asked if you want to connect it to the computer. If you want to do so Tap Yes; if you don't, tap No. It will do what YOU ask it to do.

Frequent connections to a computer will ensure that your unit has the latest software updates, map corrections through MapShare.

Tom tom xxl will not turn off or on its just got a white screen


To reset these models, just hold the power button in for 15 seconds.

Sounds like your firmware is corrupted. I have fixed a few 910's with this same problem. If you have the Tom Tom Home program installed, try to reinstall the firmware using Tom Tom's website.

Make sure you always select to disconnect the device before unplugging it. You might have unplugged it from the PC while it was still writing data. This will certainly corrupt the firmware.

look in the back of your 910 it has a reset on it. use a safety pin, it will unfreeze it

GPS 910 HAS FROZEN SCREEN


First, do a reset:

If no result, do a hard reset:
  1. Hold reset button pressed for approx 15 sec
  2. Press power button while pressing reset button
  3. Release reset button while still pressing power button
  4. Device should start, hold power button pressed until you see white text on screen, last line should read "RTC..."
  5. Release power button

Tom tom go 910 issue


press the on button then hold the on button the press the reset button, the screen sould flash white, once this is done connect the tomtom to the pc and turn it on then update it via tomtom home

Call tech support 1 866 4 tomtom M-F 8:30 am - 7 pm eastern time and sat 9-6, they'll replace ur tomtom with the advance exchange program, make sure u register first in tomtom.com, it will cut ur call about 25 mins.
