You can see if its clogged from the top the bottom side will not clog it is too big, but to remove it, it depends on the model, i believe on this one you just lift up on the spray arm and turn it counterclockwise it will come off.

Dishes on top shelf not getting clean

Check your upper wash arm.... check the holes, especially the ones at the end of the arm. Are they possibly clogged with debris or hard water? This is the usual cause of dishes on the top rack not getting clean. The holes at the end of the wash arm are angled to eject the water at an angle to use the reaction to push the wash arm around. If those holes are clogged, then the arm won't rotate, and only those few dishes or glasses right under the arm will get clean, and the remaining 80% of the dishes on the upper rack won't get clean!

Why are hype dishes on the top rack of my Ge profile dishwasher dirty? The upper two arms do not spin, but the lowest one is strong

There is a plastic filter down inside the pump inlet that clogs up on these. It can be difficult to remove without breaking things. d26b8b16-9f7c-47f1-863b-1baebb58de21.jpg

Dishes won't clean

Pipe cleaners dipped in full strength Lime-A-Way cleaner. It takes time because you need to do each and every port, but it works.

The dishwasher is 4 years old. It is not cleaning the dishes. Even when they are rinsed. Water temp is high enough.

Hi, try removing the spray arms and see if they are clogged - and of course unclog them. Also might be inlet valve. If you are at all technical, find it, remove it, see if it is clogged - if you have hard water - which most people do - it will clog up and should be replaced. You can use vinegar and special cleaning agents but most likely the problem is as aforementioned.

I own a GE Profile Trition quietpower III GSD5940F00SS dishwasher. The dishes, particularly the mugs and cups, are not getting clean.

Your sprayer arms may be clogged. You can remove them by loosening the screws holding them in place. Flush them with the sprayer at your sink. If you can SEE residue (parts of paper labels, bone fragments, fruit peel pieces, etc) remove them with a tweezer.Reinstall the spray arms and see if that works.
Three more ideas:
(1) run a cycle without dishes OR detergent and use 1/4 cup of white vinegar instead. This will break down soil and "gunk" and help your dishwasher run more effectively.
(2) use an old toothbrush and clean the underside of the door INSIDE the dishwasher. The door will be open and you just brush the bottom of the open door on the INSIDE of the dishwasher. A lot of "crud" gathers there and can be redeposite on your dishes. We seldom think to check that area.
(3) the pipe that carries water to the upper sprayer arm MUST fit against the outlet in the back of the dishwasher. If it is dislodged or not seated properly, the water won't flow to the upper sprayer arm.
Hope one of these suggestions helps. If it does, please rate my suggestion. Thanks.

The middle cleaning arm is not spinning and the dishes are cloudy and not getting as clean.

the spray is probably clogged due to hard water. that is also the reason for the cloudy looking dishes. go to www.dishwasherfilter.com and get there new system to fix this problem once and for all.

GE Profile Dishwasher not cleaning - older PDW7880GOOSS

My GE Profile Dishwasher PDW8280N00SS wouldn't clean the dishes. I found what looked like plastic particles along with food particles in the wash arm spray holes. I found that heat had warped the gray flat filter in the bottom allowing food particles to bypass the filter, and I found that the flexible plastic sump inlet was disintegrating internally shedding plastic which clogged the filter to the pump and getting into the pump. This shouldn't happen. The material that the sump inlet is made out of is too soft and porous. I noticed other components in the wash water system made from the same white flexible rubber which is an unacceptable material. I bought replacement parts at a cost of $100 for both and this has solved the problem. What's distressing is that the replacement parts appear to be made of the same inferior plastic. And I have noticed upon closer inspection that additional interior parts appear to be heat damaged (warped). This dishwasher has been used less than 4 years and problems like these in a high end dishwasher are unacceptable.

Either the nozzles on the spray arms are clogged, or there is not enough water pressure spraying.
You can clean nozzles with tooth pick

Rotating arms getting clogged very frequently

I do not have a huge amount of information about the GE Profile PWD7880 handy, so I don't know if it has a chopper blade/food disposer at the bottom of your Dishwasher, but when a dishwasher gets the holes of the spray arm, the most common cause is the chopper blade is jammed/blocked. Then the food debris never gets sliced and diced at the end of the of each wash cycle.
Opening up the filter under the spray arm, removing as much of the lower assembly and inspecting every where in the sump area, especially the drain pump area would be a great beginning.
Good Luck! Just ask if you have more questions.

Dishes not clean. Lower spray arm possibly not moving.

Remove the lower basket so you can access the lower arm.

Does it spin freely? If not, remove and clean the rotating point. Make sure the spray nozzles are not clogged and there as no chunks of stuff inside the spray arm.
