Reformat your PC, NTDLR is driver inside your hardisk and is already damage so better format it to correct the driver and reinstall your computer. if you have files on it then its allready lost, but you can retrieve your files on other drives except drive C:

This usually occurs if you have a memory stick in the computer, the computer will try to boot from this instead of booting windows. If there is no memory stick in the computer, your hard drive could possibly be corrupt.

How to fix a NTDLR error problem?

Hi, The issue that you are having right now is that NTDLR is missing, it needs to be replaced or just to be sure, you have to reinstall Windows again on the computer. NTDLR is a part of the start up menu that starts your computer properly. You need to have Windows Installation discs.
Hope this helps. Thank you for using Fixya, you recommendation is highly appreciated for the free support

Error message NTLDR missing on formatted hard drive

You need to either reinstall windows, or take the hard drive out, hook it up as a spare drive to a working computer and copy NTDLR to the root of the laptop hard drive. It would be much easier to reinstall windows. You can always use the recovery portion of Windows, but if I were you I would just do a format and reinstall. NTDLR is just a startup file for Windows XP, that does not mean your hard drive is gone or anything. Please don't forget to rate!..Thanks

Ntdlr is compressed error message

Could you please let me know about your operating system?

Since this error comes up due to faulty or corrupt BIOS. Please update the BIOS from the microsoft website.

If that does not solve the problem then you might need to reinstall the windows.

Let me know if you face any difficulty, i will assist you further.

Ellin

Ntdlr error messages

If your pc is showing a error before starting windows it means your system is corrupt or damaged. This can be fixed with chkdsk or a repair windows install or a clean windows install.

That is something you cant prevent from showing. It will always come up when there is a problem with the operateing system.

Missing or corrupt \system32\hal.dll

You didn't need to replace the hard drive if there is a missing NTLDR file, it just means that the boot sector is missing or corrupt. You can fix it by putting in your WinXP CD, and choosing REPAIR.(This is known as the Recovery Console and it's in DOS just to warn you...) Then you can type the following at the dos prompt: fixmbr - Fixes corrupt master boot record fixboot - Fixes corrupt boot sector bootcfg /rebuild - Fixes corrupt or missing boot.ini
