How to replace the throat plate spring

This can be tricky. At a 45 degree angle push the top spring under the holding area of the machine. Hold this spring firm and push down on the second spring. Rotate the throat plate simultaneously until the plate is in its correct position.

I took the throat plate off to clean my Imagine serger. When I try to put bak on it has to be pushed back down and is against a small piece, seems to be too close.

THROAT PLATES ARE HELD ON EACH SIDE WITH A SMALL PIECE OF METAL (SPRING). 1. PLACE THE PLATE AT AN ANGLE OF THE THROAT. 2. AT THE SAME TIME CAREFULLY PUSH EACH SPRING UNDER THE PLATE. 3. SLIDE THE PLATE TOWARDS THE AREA WHERE THE PLATE SHOULD FALL INTO THE LOWER POSITION.

Please help my throat plate[needle plate] is banging loudly..the faster I sew the louder it knocks[throat plate against its base]..it's as if its too loose but see nowhere to tighten or screw it in...

I would like to help you but I do not know what model your machine is. Please answer this and I will try to help you. Knocking is usually lint built up under the throat plate and has to be removed to get it cleaned out.

I am wondering if I need a throat plate to sew. Everytime I start sewing, it gets clogged up and makes buzzing noises. I cut the tight threads, start again, and then it happens all over again. So, Is there...

Yes, you need the throat plate, Somehow you are not threading it right. Do this, change your needle, flat side facing away from you, totally rethread, with the presser foot up, pull the threads, it should move smoothly, now put the presser foot down, the thead should barely move when pulled. This normally will seat the thread in the tension discs. I don't know what else to try without being able to see the machine.

When you slide the throat plate cover back into place, there may be a little lever the plate is suppose to move back into place. Try to reset the cover to see if it will catch.

Recheck the manual to see if there is another function that should be reset.

Make sure the bobbin is not over wound.

The feed dog is not pulling the fabric and I cannot get it to come up

Hi, possible causes: see if there is an up and down movement of the feed dog during a cycle. If it moves check that the throat plate is not the feed cover plate used where fabric feed is not needed. If there is no movement, check that the setting is not for embroidering where the feed dog is neutralized for free motion stitching. Otherwise open the buttom cover and observe its movement under various sewing settings.
