Check for lint build up in your exhaust.Flex hosing builds up due to condesate you are exhausting. Otherwise check continuity on limit switch on exhaust tube .Some models let motor run even though elements get shut down. Simple either open or closed. Electrical meter tells the tale.

Electric dryer taking longer to dry clothes

Must be past the filter-problems in the duct work and hoses. get one of the refrigerator cleaning brushes from the hardware store and a duct cleaning kit, or a rope and rag. clean out the dryer ducting, & hoses as good as you can and check the outside exhaust port. Sometimes these have trap doors that become stuck from old age, even though ductwork is relatively clean. problems can also exist after the filter but before the dryers exhaust port in the back try to clean that out as well.

My dryer is Model #GEW9250. I have a problem- sometimes it will dry and sometimes I have to run the same load 2-3 times. I'm not sure what the problem could be. My filter is clean and we did check the...

Unless this is an older unit I would first check the filter and then the exhaust hose for clogs. If the hose has not been cleaned in several years then check that first, remember to do this to reduce fire hazzard. Also check the vent outside the house to see if it is clogged. If you are in colder climate areas and the vent is near bushes check to see if the ice is clogging the vent. (moisture freezes on bushes, if they are too close to the vent) If the "run" of exhaust pipe is long you can use the "blower" of your vacuum (if equiped) to clear the hose,. Note: wach for the mess if the hose is clogged. Good Luck.

My ge dryer takes 5hrs to dry a load of clothes, it seems hot enough inside when i open it but the clothes used to dry in 90mins or so now its hours

Have you checked your lint filter? Do you empty your lint filter after every load? If it is hot inside the dryer then the most likely suspect is a clogged exhaust vent. Check the lint filter, if it is clean pull the dryer out from the wall and disconnect the exhaust hose. You may have to clear out the exhaust hose...compressed air usually does the trick. After you have done this, put everything back together and your problem should be gone.

My maytag dryer runs and there is some heat ,but clothes take hours to dry

Check dryer exhaust force at outlet. The exhaust should exert strong pressure against your hand. If not clean or replace vent system.

Dryer lint screen may be clogged with lint or finely pulverized detergent residue.

Another possibility is that the operating thermostats may be out of tolerance.
Hope this helps.

Dryer has heat but won't dry. Seems like no air is blowing into the clothes??? so takes long long time to dry.

Have you checked to make sure your lint filter is clean? also don't stack items on the dryer. and make sure exhaust vent hose isn't kinked or blocked.

My suggestion would be to make sure that the lint-filter and the exhaust flex hose are removed and cleaned. If you have the plastic type flex-hose, be aware that these can heat up and catch fire. Be sure to also check the exhaust port coming out of the dryer (that the flex hose attaches to); make sure that there is nothing obstructing the air flow, if there is, then clear & clean and try to restart. If not, I would call a service company...

Try running dryer with venting disconnected to eliminate that as the problem. Thanks, please leave feedback or contact me again for more info if you need it.

Whirlpool dryer wont dry.

LONG dry time is an indication of a clogged or restricted exhaust. Check the exhaust hose in the rear of the machine and make sure it is not crushed or kinked. The vent pipe should be rigid metal not flexible foil or flexible plastic. If everything in rear looks OK, check the outside vent hood for any blockages. If everything checks out, the exhaust system may need cleaning. Cleaning kits are available at most home improvement centers and at this website:http://www.linteater.com.

My Miele T8322 Tumble dryer turns off before the clothes its fully dry even in Extra Dry mode. The vent pipe is clear. Is there any kind of adjustment or do I need to get a new sensor under warranty...

IS THE DRYER PUSHED UP AGAINST THE VENTING IN THE BACK OF THE DRYER? IT MAY BE CRIMPING THE EXHAUST MATERIAL CAUSING A RESTRICTION.

IF THAT IS O.K., DISCONNECT THE EXHAUST AND RUN A LOAD OF LAUNDRY THROUGH A NORMAL DRY CYCLE.
IF THE DRYER DRIES THAT LOAD O.K., THERE IS A RESTRICTION SOMEWHERE IN THE EXHAUST. ALSO, CHECK THE LINT TRAP. IF THERE IS A WHITE CLOUDY FILM ON THE LINT FILTER, TAKE A WIRE BRUSH AND CLEAN IT OFF. IT IS RESTRICTING THE AIR FLOW AT THE FILTER.

CHECK THE LINT FILTER HOUSING FOR A BUILD UP OF LINT. IF THERE IS, USE A CENTER CARDBOARD FROM WRAPPING PAPER ATTACHED TO THE END OF THE VACUUM HOSE. FLATTEN THE CARDBOARD TO FIT INTO THE FILTER SLOT AND CLEAN OUT THE LINT.
