I have a mtd 46 inch lawn mower model 13a0771h055. The mower has quit pulling and the belt is still on. Can you adjust the belt

The top belt is part 65, MTD part number 954-04142 . This is a 1/2" x 91.4" V belt. If you are missing the manual, for the said model,
I have found that the simplest way, of figuring out the correct route for the belt, is to remove the deck, and hold the replacement belt above the mechanism, with the tension from the engine end.
Then 'mock up' the replacing proceedure, bearing in mind the correct direction the tensioner/s, move in.
Then it's not too difficult to figure it out the correct route.

If you don't have the model number, I just found a diagram for mine by Google, by typing in "MTD 46 inch deck diagram" It took me to a Parts Tree site and right to the diagram I needed. There are slight model differences but for years, the 46 inch, three blade deck has been essentially the same.
