Hello Antony, try pressing F8 just before it tries to start up. You will have to wait for about 5 secs and then press it. That will bring you up to a startup repair screen, then just highlight that you want to repair startup problem stopping your laptop from starting. If this doesnt work just go to create restore point, which will restore your pc to before the problem began. If all of that doesnt work you will have to run a startup program, but try those things first. Good luck.

Shut your computer all the way down. As soon as you turn it on, start hitting F8 about 3-4 times, that will take you to an advanced options menu. Select "Last known good configuration" and that should work

Windows failed to start

Sounds like windows i corrupted. Try this. When you first turn on the laptop. Hold down the ALT key and keep pressing the F10 key. If this works it should bring you into the internal system restore for your laptop and you can restore your system back to factory default. If you can't do this then try going into your BIOS and see if the hard drive is recognized in there.

If your hard drive is recognized then you'll need to get a windows vista installation cd. If your hard drive is not recognized in there then your hard drive is bad and would need to be replaced.
