Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have an HP ProBook 6445b laptop. This has happened twice. Battery worked fine, one day drained completely, then wouldn't recharge. Got a new battery... same thing... worked fine, drained completely, now won't recharge. Has anyone heard if this is a know problem? Thank you.

Before you installed your new battery did you fully charge the battery. If you do not do that you run the risk of burning out your battery cells.

If you can go into your setup when the computer first comes on, go to drop down menu tabs until you see something for the battery. You can run the this program so the battery can get use to the amount of time you spend on the computer.

I bought a new battery for HP4410s probook but it is giving a battery back up for just one hour please suggest me the solution

Run the battery completely down and let it re-charge. Most batteries need a few charges to get going.

Hi, Is it possible to reset/recovery admin Bios password on Probook 4310s ? And how, if Yes. regargs, Bob

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your HP ProBook laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty.

Computer will not turn on

Try a different power outlet
check whether battery is completely drained out
check for a battery meter behind the battery which can indicate whether the battery is completely drained off or not
check whether the system ppowers up with the AC adaptor connected
check whether there is any lights lit on the system indicating some activity is happening

Hi when i hit the power button on my hp laptop the button blinks and nothing happen

This usually happens if the battery is completely dead and needs recharging for awhile. Unplug the battery and try to turn it on if you want to test this immediately.

Otherwise the power adapter might be malfunctioning. These are fairly cheap on Ebay (10-20$) I have bought one of these and it works just fine. But you can also buy brand name ones at computer retail stores for exorbitant prices of 80-100$.

Brand new Hp probook 6540b blank black screen after battery dying fan also works over time any ideas to fix?

I have had this. Unplug the laptop, take the battery out and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

HP told me this was caused my "excessive charge on the mainboard"

The above process drains the charge

HP48SX Battery drain

I suggest you use rechargeable batteries. They usually drain faster than the alcaline ones anyway. So have 2 sets of rechargeable batteries. Evaluate the number of days a set lasts. Insert the charged batteries before the old ones are thourougly drained.

The life of your batteries in the calculator depends on the usage.

About repairs: I am convinced that it will cost you more to have it fixed than to buy a new HP calculator (HP 49g*'s, HP 50g* 's).

Hope it helps.
