YOU WILL STILL NEED TO PROGRAM THE NEW REMOTE FROM THE MANUAL THAT CAME WITH THE REMOTE. NORMALLY THIER ARE TWO WAYS TO PROGRAM A REMOTE EITHER MANUALLY OR TO DO IT AUTOMATICALLY. YES THE ORIGIONAL REMOTE IS ALREADY SET UP FOR YOUR MODEL OF TV BUT WITH THAT SAID TRY TO PROGRAM IT BY BOTH PARTS OF THE MANUAL. i AM USING A 55 INCH SMART TV AND HAVE DONE THIS AND ON OTHER SMART TV'S. ALSO YOU CAN GO TO THE WEBSITE OF THE REMOTE THAT YOU PURCHASE AND LOOK FOR VIDEOS ON HOW TO SET IT UP. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP LET SOMEONE HERE KNOW. GOOD LUCK.
I crushed my AKAI remote a week after I got it and I purchased a Logitech Harmony remote. It's kind of expensive (100.00) but you install the software in your computer and connect the remote to your computer. A screen comes up and you can type in an unlimited number of devices. All you do is put in the brand and model number and the computer will program the remote for that device. I have at least 10 different devices programmed into mine and works perfectly. Actually the price isn't bad because they wanted 85.00 to replace the remote just for the TV.
look in your guide and check the programming procedure for finding an unknown code. it's usually turn the tv on and go into a search mode on the remote and start hiting a button till the tv goes off and then you have just found the code. good luck.
Target sells a GE Universal Remote Control, 5 Device with learning feature. I can't say if it works with your Verizon DVR, but its code for the Akai LCT3285TA is 1139. If you have the Verizon's remote, you should be able to use the learning function to make the GE control it - that's if the GE doesn't have a built in code that will work for this DVR.
it would seem the akai remote codes you have are not programed in the remote you should wright to akai and tell them 1000s of people you have chatted to have the same problem is there any way you could send me a replacement please or could you give me the codes and i will program them my self thank you hope you get this email or letter or phone call what have you to lose.
