SOURCE: How do I fix a F53 fault ona Miele W1712 Washing

F53 is a motor fault, Most likely the Tacho open circuit. Tacho comes part of the brush module assembly. You will need full model and index number before ordering part.

How do I fix a F53 fault on a Miele W3740 Washing Machine

First, unplug the washer for minutes then plug in and see if it solve the problem, if not then check the carbon brushes on the motor. These are a part which is expected to wear and when they do the motor cannot rotate the drum, which means the speed sensor thinks something is wrong and throws the error.good luck. This is a speed sensor fault. Could be caused either by the motor itself (built-in speed sensor) or by an electronic fault.

What is code error F50 on my miele W3725 washing machine mean

I have today purchased a Miele 3985 machine with a know F50 Fault code appearing

Before I went to the expense of calling a Miele technician, I explored the blocked / clogged drain path

I removed the drain pipe and noticed there was a lot of 'residue' / gunk in there

I cleaned what I could, and blew through the pipe back into the machine

Then I did a cotton wash cycle at 90degrees, with a 1litre of bleach to clean the drain path

The wash looked extremely dirty during the cycle

It appears that this resolved the F50 fault code issue with my Miele 3985 Navitronic

How do I fix a F53 fault ona Miele W1712 Washing Machine

A call with the Miele tech helpdesk got me an answer: The tacho unit (coil) should have about 500 Ohm resistance, so they told me. My unit only had about 78 Ohm's, so I ordered a new brush unit (which includes the tacho). The new unit actually measures 250 Ohm, but since it was a new one I did fit it. It works like a charm again. No F53 fault code anymore.
The part no. is 6799642 - Module BSTV Mrt40 RK473. It cost me about 70 euro's including shipping. My machine is a type W3821, but the motor and brush unit with tacho is used on a variaty of models.
Cheers!

Miele w3725 front loader. message on screen "waterproof fault"

For our model Alemnesh's suggestions were spot-on. It's hard to believe that a machine with such a good reputation would (a) allow this fault to occur so easily and (b) not have its own manual provide explicit guidance as to how to fix it.
