Remove battery and ac adaptor. press power button and hold for 30 seconds. Reconnect AC power only, try rebooting. If this fails, then you have a problem with the power switch, or the cut off switch which is located just by the screen hinge may be sticking.

Failing that, and assuming the DC jack is a tight fit, you could have a problem with the motherboard. In this case, I would advise you get it checked by a professional

My toshiba satilite L305D-S5940 Wont charge has new battery new power cord It comes on acts like its going to work then shuts off and sometimes wont come on What could it be please

Hi there,
1st : you can check from the power cable charge
2nd : check the adaptor charger if there is a light indicator or not, or you can check with multimeter to check the voltage on charger adaptor, does show the proper voltage for your laptop, you can check at the end of the connection that leads to the laptop.
note : Remember use DC current at Multimeter
3rd : if the adaptor running well, just plug on the adaptor charger to the laptop, dont turn on the laptop power, just see the light indicator with battery / lightning image on laptop, its explained that there is or is not the power current running to the laptop.
3rd.A : if its no power goes to the laptop then your adaptor charger is failed
3rd.B : if is there, there must be a problem with your motherboard, section power / power plugs, why do not want to charge with a new battery.
Conclusion :
- if the problem on number 1 & 2, then you can change the power cord and the adaptor charger.
- if there is problem on the 3rd.B then you can go to the toshiba services center for your problem.

thats all, hope its help.

I have a Toshiba satellite C55 laptop that will only show one light on the front when plugged into power source. I have bought, and put in, a new battery, and it would go to the advanced boot up screen,...

Try this:

Disconnect the battery from the laptop; Plug in the AC power cable, try turning on the laptop again.

It SHOULD power up and continue to boot into windows like normal.

If it does, now put the battery into the laptop while the laptop is on.

Make sure in windows you see that the battery is charging.

If it is, then the battery was to depleted on energy to start the laptop; Some laptop batterys have to have a minimum charge in order to start the laptops. Even if the power cable is plugged in.

Computer won't turn on

try removing the battery and then plugging the laptop in. when you plug it in make sure that the light comes on that shows you the laptop is charging. If it doesn't wiggle the power chord inside the laptop till it does light up. Then press and hold the power button. With these Toshiba Ive seen that you may have to press pretty firmly. Hope this helps :)

My toshiba 2455-s305 wont boot up

If you are familiar with your laptop, i.e. the locations of hard drive, try to take it out of the its bay and put it back again. Also, if you can have someone check your battery packs, because from my experience with this laptop, when the battery packs is not charging well, i got some booting up problems.

Won't turn on

I plugged in the laptop and let it charge for an hour, and then it worked fine. I guess the battery was too low or something.

If the not meaning the battery is bad
If the lights comes up and the computer is still not charging the battery test if the compter will power without the battery if it will then battery is bad
If the computer will not turn on even the lights on the panel shows activity then you can conclude that the AC adpter is bad

Power up problem

it has nothing to do with the ram, it is the issue of the adapter or battery for toshiba laptop, if the output volatge form the adapter is not steady, the light will get yellow and blink, try it on another toshiba laptop. if it is normal, u should test the toshiba laptop battery by the multimeter, connect the electroprobes wiht the anode and cathode, if the pointer does not fixed in a short time ,the battery is the issue. change it for a new one.

Want turn on after it went into hibernation

your toshiba laptop adapter may go wrong, testing by insert it into an other toshiba laptop, if the toshiba laptop battery is not charged, the adapter is the issue, or if you have a multimeter, you can connect the two electroprobe with the input and output port of the adapter,if the pointer does not move, unfortunately,u should change a new adapter
