Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Some of the keys on the rite and bottom (space bar) are not responding. I dropped my laptop but it was not very far and did not have any cosmetic problems. I need to know what I should do next, and where I can find a manual to show me how to remove the keyboard and put it back on correctly.

I am having problems with mouse and space bar when

You don't say what program you are using, that doesn't respond, but clicking the left hand mouse key is normal to go to the next page (sideways). The space bar is not normally used for this function.

Acer Aspirre V5-572P-6646 laptop space bar doesn't respond as well as before

It may just need a clean underneath. You can remove the keys, but be careful if you do it because they can break if not done right.

SOME KEY'S ON MY LAPTOP DOES NOT RESPOND

Turn your laptop off, then use a flathead screwdriver or knife under a key corner, prying the key off gently.

You will hear a snap as the key detaches.

Remove the key retainer remaining on your laptop using your knife or screwdriver under the corner, then popping it off with a gentle twist.

Remove the space bar by pulling it off after your insert the screwdriver or knife underneath the bar.

Clean underneath your laptop keys using cotton swabs or a soft cloth dampened with water or alcohol.

You can also use compressed air to remove dust, hair and other debris.

Replace your laptop keys by placing the key retainer into position.

If you cannot remember the position, copy another retainer's position by removing another key.

Insert the keypad into the retainer, then position the key over the retainer while pressing down on the key.

You should hear the key snap into place.

Place your laptop's space bar over the space bar slots, then snap it into place

Hope this helps.

How to exit a program that is responding

Do you mean NOT responding?
If so, hold down the command key (that's the one right next to the space bar), then hold down the ALT key (that's the key next to the command key) and while you are holding them down press the ESC key (top left hand corner of the keyboard).
A window will open up showing all the running programs. Normally the problem program will be high-lighted and will have (not responding) tagged onto the end of its name. At the bottom of the window is a button marked "Force Quit".
Alternatively you can mouse over the program's icon in the dock, click on it and hold the click for a couple of seconds. A menu will pop up with "Force Quit" in it. That's it.

You can easily fix your space bar. I fixed mine last month when my daughter pulled it out of the keyboard. I used this video tutorial guide to help install the space bar key back into place. Its really very simple. have a look:

Just got a new laptop - password requires a space - where is space bar? when i type all i see is .......... all dots - no space

the space bar is the long thin key on bottom of keyboard. when you type in a secure password its normal for it to show dots. this is done so a person cant stand close to you and see your password, so a space would show up as a dot like a letter would when you type in a pasword
