Replacing oven light

In general you slide out the front glass cover on the light, which generally just sits in metal slots or clips. Then remove the globe, which commonly is an ES type so you screw it out anti-clockwise.

There are 2-3 sizes of oven globe so take the old one along to the hardware store for a match. Don't buy a standard globe, it will fail, oven globes are tougher.

Blows mains fuse

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  2. If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

Is there a fuse somewhere for the oven lights

Not generally. If everything else on the unit is working it will be the oven globe or the lampholder that is faulty.

I have a westing house electric wall oven. having trouble removing oven light to replace

Remove the fuze or switch off the oven circuit breaker in the electrical meter box to make sure power is off.
Remove protective glass cover. It usually unscrews. Even tap with a piece of wood. Unscrew the globe. If globe has broken it still needs to be unscrewed.

There is no heat coming from the microwave part of the oven, although the grill, convection oven, motor, light and fan all work. The 8 amp fuse on the board where the mains cable enters the oven has blown....

Hello, If everything comes on when it is started, like the light in the cavity and the fan (which one can hear running), and the timer counts down but it doesn't heat, the problem is probably isolated to the high voltage section of the oven.the magnetron i guess is kind of faulty and this is the most expensive part in a microwave oven.
If the display is on and the oven won't come on and run, there may be a problem in the door interlock system or the thermal protection system.
wish yo good luck,

take care.

If the fan is running, then it is safe to say that the oven element has gone.

circular element round the fan has blown. take back panel off inside oven and you will see element. to replace, take rear outside panel off and usually element is held in by 2 7mm nuts on posts sticking out of the element base plate. easy job.
disconnect of course

The glass cover is a screw in. You will need to remove this by turning anti-clockwise to get to the globe.
