My old block freezer has temperature cage from 0 to 7 what should it be on

If you mean 0 F to 7 F then that's the working range and of course freezing point is 32 F. Our freezer is set at -18 C
which is about 0 F. The exact calculation for -18 C to F is
0.4 F so 0 F is close enough.

What is the normal fluctuation range of a top freezer in a freeze-refrig combo? That is if I set the temperature of the freezer a 0 F, at what temperature should the freezer come on to keep the air i

Hello Richard;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

The normal range for a freezer is -2 to +2 Deg. F.

The normal range for the fresh food section is 35 to 40 Deg. F.

If you set your freezer at 0 Deg. F. it will stay at 0 Deg. F.
When the freezer temperature drops below 0, your compressor will kick in to bring the freezer back to 0 Deg. F.

What is the correct temperature for a daewoo fridge freezer

Your freezer should be in the range of -2 degrees to +2 degrees. Your fresh food section should be in the range of 35-40 degrees.

You only have one cooling source and that is the evaporator coil in your freezer. The freezer will attempt to satisfy the freezer temperature setting first. Having met that it will open the air damper to your fresh food section. Such a high freezer temperature will cause freezer burn on your food. It is also a waste of electricity, where the compressor is always running to meet the high demand

Freezer wont go below -9 degrees

This information does not mean anything to us if you didn't specify the model. In what temperature range a freezer works we knew thanks to the stars.
One star (-6 degrees centigrade) is perfect for making ice cubes and is sufficiently cold to keep food for three or four days.
** Two stars (-12 degrees centigrade) stores food for fifteen to twenty days.
*** Three stars (-18 degrees centigrade) will keep food safe for up to three months.
**** Four stars (below 18 degrees centigrade) means that the compartment provides the ideal conditions for freezing down fresh and pre-cooked foods.

There has got to be a way to change the factory preset freezer temperature on a Delfield 6000 series MCII to operate at refrigerator tempatures. Does anyone know how I can change the factory preset...

Do you mean to go up to +36 degrees? If so, it just won't work correctly. The refrigerant is the wrong one to run at 36 degrees. The pressure on the "low" side of the compressor is so low that the compressor will starve for freon if you tried to change the thermostat to "warm" it up to +36. Also the defrost cycle would have to be disabled or it would jump to 50 or 60 degrees 4 times a day. It also has the wrong cap tube for that temperature. It could be done with a very expensive condensing unit changeout. Over the years I have seen a lot of people try it and nobody that I know have been succesful at it. It may be easier to find someone who wants to trade. After all a freezer is worth more dollars than a cooler. Good luck.

My small freezer has a red light that came on and then it stopped working. I've lost the manual what does the light mean please? (the freezer is 2 years old)

light is a high temp warning. you need to check the power to the compressor and make sure there is power to it. youmay need to replace the thermasta control or the start ptc and overload relay on the compressor

What is the difference in temperature controllers between a fridge & a freezer? Can they be interchanged?

Refrigerator and freezer temperature controller can-not be interchanged (normally). They have a designed range of operation. Such as...say the refrigerator thermostat has a range of 45 degress at the warm setting and 33 degress set at maximum cold. This would never work for the freezer. Some electronic devices have ways to change their setting range but that is specific for each control.

Whirlpool refrig not cooling

is the fan in the freezer working when compressor is on? if not you need to replace it. do you have a large frost build up on the back wall of the freezer? if so you have a defrost problem, or back to the evaporator fan. If the fan is working you have a defrost problem which could mean a bad heater, timer, or bad defrost thermostat....
