Hi,
Did you check the belts that go around the end of the brushes?

There is a service panel that remove with a coin. It is located at the rear, bottom of the vacuum.

The star shaped screws you mentioned are Torx screws. You can get a set of torx drivers at any hardware or home improvement store.

Hope this helps, if it does, please place a vote for me.

Good luck,

Handie Andie

How do I replace the drive belt

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Changing your belt is crucial in keeping your unit running efficiently. It is recommended for belts to be replaced every 6 months.

To get access to your unit's belt, your floor base should have two plastic screws that will allow you to remove the roller brush casing. After removing the casing, you will be able to see your roller brush, now it's a good chance to, with a pair of scissors, cut any tangled hair strands or left over debris that is tangled in your roller brush. There are also four more screws that need to be removed to get access to the belt and the clutch assembly.

The roller brush clips in onto the floor base with one clip on each side, you can gently but easily unclip it. Remove the cover on top of the belt and the bearings with a screwdriver, remove the bearing end caps to reveal your unit's belt to be replaced.

Miele seb 213 quit spinning on rug

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first let's focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

We have a Miele Silver Moon vacuum that isn't

Hi dear. There are two type of attachments for this vacuum cleaners to pick up the pets hair, fluff & so on.They call it"Turbo & Power Brush".Turbo brush operates with machines suction & Power one operates with small electric motor which is built in the unit. They work with the same prenciple. There is a belt drives the rotary brush.OK.there are two small yellow screw underneath the unit. Please undo them, take of the cover & clean the rotary brush, check for the belts tension. It should be enough tight to drive the brush. If not ask for spare part from Miele in your country. After cleaning please put it back in order. To test it,attached to the vacuum.Turn the power on for Turbo brush,as long as suction starts, brush should start turning too.For the Power one, there should be power button on the handle to turn it on & off.Press it.It should work.On both of the unit, brush should spin good & strong enough to do the job when it's attached the surface you are vacuuming.Check the brush after each use, cleaned if neccesary. I hope that helps.Thanks.

Miele power nozzle quits after 10 seconds of working.

Even though the brush is spinning, you probably need to replace the belt2_bing.gifbecause it is stretched. It is probably slipping on the beater bar.

Miele SEB-213 powerbrush stopped working

Pull the head cover off to check the belt, if the belt is ok then it might be the power connection between the handle and the power head shaft. If the red light is on the power head, then its not the connection
because its getting power. Now some heads have a reset button on them, you could check this also.
With the cover off the power head, remove the belt, now turn it on, and be careful, but try to make the motor shaft spin, with one finger, because if it does start to spin you do not want to hurt your finger.

If the motor starts to spin, put the belt back on, if it does not spin again, the motor is too weak.
If it does not spin at all, the motor is bad.Hope this helps you,and you get it working.

Miele White Star SEB 204, powerhead stopped spinning. brushes are clear of debris, belt (#3854940) is not broken. Could belt be stretched so that brush head does not spin?

Yes, most likely the belt has stretch. Flat belts do this after a short time and need to be replaced when problems start with the brush roll not wanting to turn. Also check the brush roll, make sure that the ends turn freely, if not, then replace it also.
