Question about Peavey CH1 Speaker

Open Question

The middle 15 in one of my two PV215's is not working. After taking it apart I found out that the speaker itself is fine, but there is no signal getting to it.

My crossover on Behringer speaker cab ba-115 (15" bass driver plus tweeter) is bad. Does anyone have the schematic before I tear it apart?

There is very little to an inspeaker crossover that could go bad unless it was SEVERELY overdriven. I recommend checking the speaker individually on a wire from a stereo or something powered to verify this. A crossover is nothing more than a capacitor (high cutoff) and an inductor.(low cutoff). The 600 watts rating of the cabinet is an RMS rating, meaning, .707 actual peak value free of distortion. This means that you can only drive it about 71% of that without distorting or damaging it. You said, "very little signal gets to the speaker", which sounds like "very low volume" meaning, magnet stuck, speaker not moving much, meaning warped voice coil. Check that the speaker will move back and forth with your hand freely without interference or scratchy noise. If it doesn't, the voice coil is warped and the speaker needs to be reconed or replaced.

MDR-NC6 Sony Noisecancelling headset

I think I have it. I've only had a chance to listen to a couple of songs till the brand new headset's right ear died. I took it apart and found that when I hook up another speaker in parallel with the dead one, it works, which can only mean that the circuit is fine and the 'dead' speaker is really dead. No idea where to get a replacement though.

Right speakers don't work

After taking the unit apart, I found that the speaker wire had broken, at the point where it passes through the hinge. Although the wire is reinforced with plastic in this area, wiggling the wire showed that the break was there. I removed the coating and found that both wires were broken. That was it. No problem.

Screen says attention no signal

Your TV is probably on the PC mode and you are not using it as a PC monitor.

You need to change the source by pressing the TV/Video button on the remote control or the SOURCE button on the TV itself. You may also just press the channel up or down buttons. Do this before the TV goes to standby mode (amber light) or while it shows the message: ATTENTION NO SIGNAL.

If it does not work, reboot the TV first and do this again.
