SOURCE: The dishwasher cycle starts and

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

I suspect based on your description...

"stops giving me the - - - like the door was opened, but it was not, I have to click the resume button to get the dishwasher to complete the wash cycle"...

one of the door switches is likely faulty, yours has two but are the same part, number 8269209.

You'll need to remove the control panel to access the switch in the door latch assembly.

**make sure to turn off the breaker/power before servicing the unit...safety first**

Let me know if you need any further assistance in terms of removing the door panel etc.

I usually use this link for changing the control, but it should show you how to remove the panel that you'll need to for serving.

You might try using Jet Dry in your rinse aid dispenser, but plastic things tend to hold water and there isn't much you can do except try using Jet Dry.

Is it true that it takes about 2 1/2 hours to go through a normal cycle? If not, how long does it take, approximately? I am asking about the 18 inch built-in.

Hello,
I cannot find any mention of times for this particular machines run, I have found the Users Manual HERE. I don't think it should take 2 1/2 hours to run this unit through a cycle, perhaps 30 minutes to one hour.
I hope this answers your query.

What is your water temp. This model has 4 automatic water heat cycles built in to it and it heats the water to 145 degrees and won't let advance till that temp. If the water coming in is lower than 120 degrees it will add about 2 hours to your normal wash cycle.

Run cycle goes for 2 hrs or more

In the last ten years the machines have been using a water heat feature. The water will heat roughly 1 degree a minute so depending on the installation and temperature of the incoming water, a complete cycle can be 90 min to over 4 hours.

My Kitchen Aid dishwasher runs for about 2 hours. Is this normal

It depends on your water pressure. Mine runs a cycle in about 25 minutes, with 92 psi water pressure. Before changing all the pipes in my house, I had about 30 psi and it took about 45 minutes. The longer it takes to fill, the longer it takes to do a wash.

Dishwasher AEG FAV40620W stuck time delay

Thanks. I figured it out from the online manual. Hold buttons #2 and #3 (second and third button down on far left side) for 2 seconds should reset it. It took some 15 minutes however before the dishwasher reset!

Wash cycle

momrules, it could vary depending on the water entering the dishwasher. On a heavy cycle normal time is about 85 minutes not including thermal holds ( pauses that heat the water). On a normal wash, 68 to 75 minutes not including thermal holds. If the water entering the dishwasher is not at least 120 to 140 degrees the dishwasher will pause in cycles to heat the water before advancing. So 120 minutes is not unrealistic. The heaters in the dishwasher are low wattage and will only heat the water approx. 2 degrees every 5 minutes. Catriver.
