My ac unit's compressor is continuing to run even after I turn the power off. On the fan onlymode the compressor is running. Ay ideas on what to check? Thanks

You can check the compressor contactor to see if the compressor contacts are welded together. You can check for control voltage to the compressor contactor, no voltage should be present to the solenoid part of the contactor. You can check thermostat connection terminal Y1, it should not have any voltage to C. What power you turning off that will not cut the compressor power?

1996 amana top freezer refrigerator not cooling

Check power to and from thermostat and to compressor relay. If compressor powered but not running, compressor fault. If compressor running but no heat in condenser, short of gas. If compressor running and heat only in first rungs of condenser, compressor poor pumper and needs replacing.

I have a Frigidaire upright freezer. Power coming into freezer. Light inside works, and the temp setting on the door works. Not getting any power through the system to the compressor.

Contact a professional. The power supply source needs to be testing to the compressor and see if the power is fine, or if the compressor is faulty and not drawing needed power.

Amana srd23v fridge not getting cold, fan in back will not come on

Check power to the compressor start relay. If power there suspect compressor fault if compressor hot. If compressor cold, suspect start relay. If no power to relay, suspect control thermostat

Can you tell me exactly how to fix my air there a manual pump?

System has no manual pump.system overview is this, air springs at all four wheels, electric valve at each spring, air line from these valves to a compressor under hood and lastly level switches that look at height and run compressor and open valves according to need.most likely the air spring bags are cracked causing leaks to system in turn which over works the hope is just no power to compressor,so test for power and ground at compressor and if no power.power it up and raise veh or if there is power the compressor is smoked.

Compressor not coming on check red wire on compressor with test light compressor comes on pressure good high and low air cold

If the compressor came on when you were testing it with a test light, it sounds like something is wrong with your ground for your compressor, and completely the circuit through your test light.

Wont start up

pretty basic stuff. power cord could be abaded . check to be sure power is reaching the stat with a meter. if it is then check to see if its reaching compressor with a meter, obviously the box is hot so sta t should be calling if power arrives at stat but doesn't come out stat is bad. if it gets to compressor but no run then the compressor start components or the compressor itself are bad. stat has a power in lead and a power out lead. if you check volts between terminals and show 120 the stat is open and bad. if it is set to max cold and failing to send run signalit has to be the stat. if you have power to stat and stat shows no voltage terminal to terminal then its closed and power is not getting to compressor, trace wiring and check .if power is getting to compressor the checjk start cap and relay . if they are good then compressor is bad , usually to expensive to replace.

Dead Compressor

take cover off compressor electrics and check start device ok and not burnt out. if compressor is warm to touch, indicates faulty compressor. take all electrics off compressor and check for continuity thro windings.
also check for power to compressor - if no power, indicates fault in board
