Question about Brother HL 2140 Laser Printer

Open Question

My printer won't print all pages of an article. Especially, with emails, it only prints the first page, and no more. With articles, I want to print, it will print usually the first 3 to 4 pages, and quit. Often, the first page comes out of the printer, then a couple seconds go by, and another page or two come out, and it stops printing the rest. I am not technically-minded, so please explain answer as simply as possible. Thanks!

If you remove the empty cartridge, you will see a small window on the egde that plugs into the printer, in the center. This is where the printer optically scans for ink levels. On the empty color cart, you can try covering that raised spline with electrical tape or by coloring it with a black permanent marker. That should fool the sensor into thinking your ink is full.

It seems the printer buffer memory has overflowed. Cancel the print from the print Que and switch off the printer. Give your PC a reboot too. Now switch on the printer and make sure that there is no document in the print Que. If its still there, disconnect the printer and delete the pending job, i.e. print Que. After the printer shows it ready for printing do not release the entire document for printing at one go. Breakup the print job in 3 parts and for each part manually enter the page numbers and then give the print command. Repeat this till the entire lot is over..........................sodeep

SOURCE: No ink on printed pages

Try to pull out the ink cartridges. Then after 1 minute put the cartridges on. Then it will initiate head cleaning. Just perform the head cleaning to clean clogged nozzles. Then try to print a test page.

CX5000 All in One. It only prints half of the page and keeps printing only half a page until article is finished. This is with emails and some others but seems to print OK from Word documents.

Check the paper settings in the printer and the program which you are printing with. Try to reset the paper settings.

Why does my printer sudenly print the wrong way across the page?

Sounds like someone changed the page orientation from portrait to landscape. Go to print preview before you print your next article and then go to printer properties and see how the page orientation is set.

Why does HP Deskjet 940c only print left side of a selection from a web page?

A printer prints almost anything that is shown in a computer screen and it depend on what you're trying to print. If you want to print contents from a webpage, you have two options to chose from. The first is of course the contents in the webpage that you want printed and the second option is to print the whole webpage. If you want to print only the contents in a web page, e.g. an article or photo, you have to highlight the article or photo first then right-click and select 'Print...'. It should print the article or photo only. But if you want to print the whole webpage, chances are that it only prints the 'skeleton' of the webpage and not the contents, hence the reason you have only the left part of the webpage printed. However, if you highlight the whole webpage and then right-click and select 'Print...' I am sure you will have the whole webpage printed. Cheers.

When printing more than 1 page, it does not print ALL of the info.

Have you tried to un install your printer drivers, they can become corrupt over a period of time.

Completely un install them then reboot the pc and make sure they are gone, then download the latest version for your operating system and install them, see if that cures it for you.

I'm trying to print an article from the computer and blank pages keep running through the printer non-stop.

Try canceling the print job, unplug the printer and plug it back in. Copy the article to a Word Doc. and print it from there.

Started printing 20-30 pages of article, realized not enough paper in printer, but not being my machine didnt know where to find more paper, for some minutes now machine wont print at all

You have to go to Control Panel or TaskBar where you can see your PRINTERS folder. If ther are many printers listed, select your printer.
You have to delete the printing job from the queue.
When there is nothing more in the queue,
Print again, this time go through the menu, and instead printing the whole article specify pages like Pages 22- 40 ( Omit the first pages you have already printed.
Hope this will work for you, have a good day

Number of pages

If you use ALL small type, it will be 20 pages. Seems like the thing to do, but if you must use 21 pages, you can use 17 pages of small print (40,800), and 4 pages of large print (7,200) for a total of 48,000.

When I cancel the printer does not print other items that have been scanned. it gets hung up.

when you print an article on-line. it goes into your printers memory. 10 pages for instance. if you cancel after 5 pages. the printers RAM ( memory ) stores the remaining pages to be printed. the only way to do this, is to cancel printing. then go into printer program. and delete the queue, or pending items, before exiting windows.
hope this explains your dillema.
